I had the unfortunate experience of visiting La Barata Market, and I would highly advise staying far away. The owner is incredibly rude and unprofessional, giving off a very unpleasant vibe from the moment I walked in. To make matters worse, the food quality is absolutely horrible. I spotted cockroaches crawling over the produce and the shelves. It's clear they don't take hygiene seriously at all. On top of that, much of the food is not only old, but some items are over 1years past their expiration date! I was shocked and disgusted. It's a health hazard, and I wouldn't trust anything from this market. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.
