I have never been in the VA hospital once, during eight years of coming, that we haven’t had to bother someone and ask how the heck we get to our appointment. Today, we were stuck in the parking lot, unable to find how to exit. The exit was blocked off. Finally, we asked a person who worked at the VA, and he tried to explain but finally said, follow me. He was a gem. We finally have decided it’s much easier to go outside and walk to either entrance that is closest to where we need to be.The signage needs a major overhaul. Our doctors are great. Staff is courteous.

Thanks to the men and women in the military.

I came here with a friend who is a vet. My review is for the look and feel of the place - it's my first time visiting a veterans' hospital, and very impressed, with the new building () where imaging / mammogram is located.

James A. Haley (1899-1981) was a WWI vet and served as FL Representative for many terms.

It's early Saturday afternoon. The hospital is quiet. Simple decor, shiny floor, even men's bathroom has a diaper changing table.

My friend got appointment done in less then 10 min, which also cut my exploration short too.

Parking, however is another story. Our driver was being harassed for pulling in there: you need a permit, I think. Oh well.

This is the worst VA hospital system I have ever been in. The doctors and staff feel like they are the ones that matter, they forget that it's not them, it's the vets that matter.

I'm sure vets are dying waiting to get in, I had to wait over 7 years for my dental only to have them do such a bad job all were pulled yesterday.

The mental health part of the hospital is not a place for vets, or anyone.

You are here to serve vets, not to sit around not answering the phones, or making it impossible to get care.

I went on a road trip last year and ended up at the Las Vegas VA hospital. I'm getting good care, I saw a dentist within 3 months, I got my referrals, and my doctor cares about me. It's a shame the hospitals are so different

Wonderful experience at James A Haley VA. Had a scheduled MRI on 12/5/24. From the Valet to the helper at the desk, who drove me in a golf cart to my appt, to the MRI tech to the MRI clerk who took it upon himself to get a wheelchair to take me out when I’d waited too long for transport. Wonderful people. I especially want to thank the MRI tech. I was nervous because I’m very claustrophobic. She let me take my time and made sure I was comfortable. She didn’t rush me at all. She made a stressful situation so much better. I’m sorry but I don’t recall her name. But she is definitely a star. Thank you. Everyone is always helpful and there are always kind world. So nice.

As a veteran, having to deal with non-military personnel on a regular basis is discouraging. For them, it a 9-5 job, but when I was putting my body physically & mentally through jump school, ranger school and JOTC. Not one of them was there, so what gave you the right to tell me what I deserve. Do your job and keep your comments to your own worth. It is a shame that veterans have to deal with that from people who are sworn to nothing !!!

I've been going here for almost 3 years, and I love the care I receive. I'm in the main hospital every 5-6 months, and frequent Endocrinology (Dr. Pxxxxxo), the lab for blood work, and Women's Imaging Center - everyone I've encountered is amazing, especially Dr. P in Endocrinology! Also, the volunteers and folks that work at the front desks everywhere I frequent are super friendly and helpful!

Got back from Colombia this week, spent 2 months working in very unsanitary conditions. Got extremely sick, deathly sick, I get better, everything’s fine. 3 weeks later, got back in the states 5 days ago, I’m getting the same symptoms. I go into the ER today, tell them I just got back from Colombia, I was working around feces urine and blood all in soul for a few months, maybe I got a parasite or caught something more then a common cold or flu, I’ve never felt like I was dying from the flu, maybe the 2 are connected? Doctor tells me “it’s probably the flu”…I’m no rocket scientist, but I know I don’t catch the flu 2 months in a row. She refused to do anything other then treat my sore throat because “unless I know what you have, I don’t even know what tests to run…what you want me to do a malaria test?” Like I dunno doc, maybe? Something other then give me throat drops and say there isn’t a connection from just getting back from another country without even doing a physical exam! She literally didn’t examine me at all. I get it, it’s Friday, she wanted to go home. I went home, waste of my time. I’ll go to another VA

Wonderful experience with everyone from the Physician (Dr. Khaku, ENT, Surgery)and Nurses, to the techs, the hospitality, the concierge services, transport staff, everyone we met in the halls, directing us to where we needed to go. Need to be going there for the next couple months for many appointments and and probable second surgery, so I have every confidence we will be in good hands. It’s an 80 mile trip each way for us but it’s worth the excellence in service.
