Wish I could give them no stars. Whoever is customer service for billing is INCREDIBLY rude and not helpful at all. I had to call 8 times before reaching her because she didn’t want to deal with me when we clearly have a leak or something since our bill is so high and they want to nickel and dime and charge a fee for the county to come out. She was clearly ignoring my calls. Disgusting

Also, they won't explain why my bill is 3 times higher than normal. Last month's bill I used 1,900 gallons of water which is standard as it's just my husband living in the house and this month's bill says 13,000 gallons?! We were sick with COVID and weren't doing laundry/dishes. It makes zero sense why I have to pay over $100 more on my new bill and the county won't come out and check for a leak because it's "private property". Funny how that works after they said they installed a new meter as of 11/27. They must be scamming us all. They claim they charge $55 to come out to read the meter and show me a graph... why would I want to pay for them to come fix something that is THEIR fault

I had to contact the Utilities Department for help locating my water meter box, which was buried in a wooded area. After recent storms and nearby construction, I had no idea where it was. They quickly put in a ticket, and within a few hours, Jason came out to assist.

Jason was amazing—determined and persistent in trying to find it. Even though we were initially unsuccessful, he didn’t give up. He came back between other calls for three days in a row, bringing trimmers and tools to clear debris. He even endured scratches and scrapes from navigating the thick brush and overgrown area, but that didn’t stop him. On the third day, his supervisor joined him, and together, they finally located the meter box!

I truly appreciate Jason’s hard work, dedication, and willingness to go the extra mile. His commitment to helping me was above and beyond. Huge thanks to Jason and the team for their outstanding service!

What a disgrace to have you serve (not) us in Brooksville - Brookridge. I've been calling all day to report possible sewer leak between 2 homes on our lawns. Not even an answering system. You are a disgrace. Best handover to an other company that does the work and not just collect payments for dead beat non-workers. SMH!! Been like this since Friday ...

Today I had the privilege of working with Marcus and things could not have been any better. If you pay your bills and bring proper documentation, things are a breeze. This is an office that does it right.

Apparently their meters stopped working at some point last year and were not charging the correct rate for water consumption. What happens is you get a bill with a "past due" balance with no explanation, and no warning. When you ask why you were not notified about the issue you get the run around. No good Hernando, do better. There are a lot of people who are struggling to get by, and a surprise extra 100.00 on their water bill, which they have been paying every month does not look good for a government run facility.

Horrible front counter employees.
Have been trying to resolve an issue for over 2 mos now.
In the process of selling my home the potential buyer had my service changed to her name without me knowing.
Settlement fell through. She was unable to get a loan. Had to get service back into my name.
My question to the hernando county utilities is why is this practice allowed?
Maybe a lawyer issue.
Told twice there would be no turn on charge. Sure enough it's on August bill for $40.

I recently received a water bill that was three times the amount I normally pay. After contacting the billing department, I was informed that my meter had been defective since January and that I had not been informed of this issue. I was told that a new meter was installed in June, but I would like to know how I can verify its authenticity. While Hernando Utilities has offered me a payment plan, my budget constraints remain a concern.
When i called them first the woman over the phone said and quote ā€œits our meter we can do whenever we wantā€ā€¦ so they have always has right to dis respect the home owners, i tell you what…no knock no sticker on my house door!…i dnt care if their system down last april my concern was no share of information here then just drop the amount that i need to pay… by the way if its your meter malfunction the fault is not my end! I pay my taxes here…i also found out that 2 of my friends had same problem and their meter have been changed too without telling them! What is this? A scam? How many people have the same problem here? Just asking.
Does not deserve even one star.
