If you’re looking for a dessert that feels like a breath of fresh air, Marvel Cake’s Jasmine Pistachio tart is an absolute must-try. From the first bite, it’s clear that this isn’t your average tart—it’s a masterpiece of flavor and craftsmanship.

The cake itself is light, moist, and infused with the delicate floral essence of jasmine, which is perfectly balanced—neither overpowering nor too subtle. The frosting, a silky jasmine cream, adds a luxurious touch that melts in your mouth without being too sweet. To top it off, the cake is adorned with edible flowers, making it as visually stunning as it is delicious.

A cake shop with a tiny size. Only Harvey is evilly delicious. However, it is difficult to stay indoors for a long time because there is no sunshade to block the sun. I recommend you to choose an outdoor seat.

This is hands down the best dessert and cake shop in the Bay Area. The service is outstanding, and the environment is fantastic. The cakes are exceptional, with a perfect balance of flavor and texture, and the attention to detail in the glaze is impressive. I'll definitely be back for the pastries. My only wish is that they labeled the calories so I could eat with a little less guilt.

The displays cases and setup of the og Campbell location is ever so much more impressive than this one attached to the Citibank, but this store location still has the same table lamps and fresh flowers. The seats are by the window and you can see the foot traffic of downtown Palo Alto while basking in sunlight. I would say the ambience is good and this store still sells all the essentials: breakfast pastries, crepe cakes, tarts, whole celebration cakes, macarons, All-American cupcakes, and their renowned spiral croissants.

The crepe cakes have distinct, crisp layers. I really liked the Hokkaido crepe cake. I didn't find the spiral croissant to be particularly impressive compared to the one of a donut shop that I had eaten for breakfast a couple hours before. However, it was a heart-shaped croissant - so cute! They had ube and chocolate fillings the day I went.

The desserts here are at the going market price for sure. I would even consider some of them cheap as I had just bought a $15 tart from another shop also located in downtown Palo Alto. The only thing that seemed expensive was the $5 macaron but we had better sense to get that because the probability of a let-down seemed high.

The workers were nice but the lady who worked there didn't comprehend English very well. My friend asked too many questions and the employee kept saying things that made it clear she didn't understand. She turned out to be Peruvian, I think. However, she was really enthusiastic about their products and described them to a tee so I personally had no problems. They also kept on delivering drinks to us which we didn't order.

There is a parking garage right next to the store. You will see the bakery upon exiting the right exit.

After walking around Stanford campus and then the Stanford mall, I told my friend we needed to find a place for her to rest, especially she had fallen off the stairs once and her back has not been well since.

Upon entering, I spotted one table which had dirty plate and tea cup. I asked the staff if we could have that table. She said yes and immediately went to that table and cleaned the table for us.

AMBIANCE 4/5
Seatings are limited and definitely a premium here. I passed by here a few times during the summer and thought what a pretty café. It looked like a quiet place for anyone who wanted to spend a quiet afternoon having tea and cakes. Today is Saturday, lo & behold, it was really crowded & rather noisy. There were more people came in after us and line did not seemed to end

There was a family sitting at the next table. Unfortunately, a boy simply could not sit still and caused a ruckus there. At one point, I thought he broke something, I saw pieces of pastries all over their table and one staff came cleaning the table.

Honestly, people who go to cafés planned to have a chilled environment. Any families who have children they could not control should refrain from taking them to such places. People need to be more considerate to others.

SERVICE 5/5
Staffs were overwhelmed with the weekend crowd. Took a while for our tea to be served. It was just tea bags and hot water. Still I appreciated how the friendly staffs trying to serve every patrons and work on the long lines, and still had to clean up and deal with unruly kids.

FOOD 4/5
They serve Mariage Frères' tea here. The Strawberry Tart was really pretty and very delicious. Macaron's prices a bit on the high side.

I would love to return to check out the place on a weekday.

Bakery is creative and tasty. Drinks are good too. Just that drinks are not consistent. Different people make it differently

I found this place overhyped and overpriced.
We had a croissant and a macaron (special fall edition apple flavor).
While the croissant was fine, the macaron was inedible - sticky, moist, no crisp crust, even frozen macarons from Trader Joe's tasted better....
