I ordered 8 magpie duck eggs, and all of them arrived safely. Out of the 8, 6 hatched, so I am very pleased! One did not develop at all, and the other was an early death. I was hoping for at least a 50% hatch rate, so it's safe to say my expectations were well satisfied! Thank you for my beautiful babies!

I had really high hopes for this company as it came highly recommended from my friends but the customer service is almost non-existent I ordered 8 turkey eggs back in February. I had to email them a few times just to get an approximate date for when the eggs would be sent out. I know animals dont always work on our schedules. I got the eggs at the end of March. They did give me one free egg but that was off set by the 4 broken ones. I've been trying to ask about replacement eggs or a refund on the broken ones and haven't gotten any replies.

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I would like to start by saying this was my first season purchasing from AV Birds and I have to admit that their customer service is superb! They have been nothing but helpful and willing to guide me through Corrections on my order. I have been ordering my birds from multiple different companies but I must say that they take the cake. To top it all off their prices are unbeatable! Definitely will be moving all of my business to them permanently!!!

I ordered 12 duckling eggs and they sent 15 which was good because 3 of them were cracked. I know ducklings are harder to hatch, but I kept candling them and all of them were alive all through the process. Every single one of my eggs hatched!!!! I am the proud mama of 12 magpie ducklings. I would definitely recommend AV Bird Hatchery and will definitely order from them again! Thank you so much AV Birds!!!!

Fantastic customer service, I appreciate the staff! You can tell they all work hard to get our orders out and delivered safely! Website is easy to navigate, with clear pictures on what each bird is, with descriptions like size, weight and color. Also gives details on the eggs with size and color. They provide history information on the birds. You guys make it easy for us!

I ordered the Assorted Heritage Turkey Hatching Eggs (6 eggs). The box came on time and contained an extra egg (7 eggs); however, 2 were cracked. I informed AV of the issue and included photos, and received no response. I followed up again about a week later - again, no response. The eggs were immediately put into my incubator within minutes of delivery and temperature and humidity were closely monitored. Candled once during incubation period about midway - only 3 appeared to be developing as expected. The others either had no (so not fertilized) or minimal growth. (Not my first time around incubating eggs.)

Fast forward- 3 hatched, and 1 died within minutes of hatching (appeared to have something wrong with it). Although I knew the remaining eggs were non-viable, I continued to incubate them for a few more days before candling confirmed they were non-viable.

I followed up with AV and informed AV of only getting 2 viable poults. I again asked for help. Tony at AV finally responded with the following: “ we always send extra eggs to cover any broken”. Basically, a ‘go pound sand’ response.

So be careful. I’m $51 into this / plus my time with only 2 (albeit beautiful) poults - 28% success rate isn’t good. It’s not about the money or time investment, my disappointment is due to the poor customer service. Customer support is so very important so I suggest trying a different hatchery or going to the local feed mill for fertilized eggs or day olds. That’s what I’ll do in the future.

I still hope AV comes through with a solution and I’ll update my review if that happens.

Great place, family-owned. I easily placed my order for a turkey for Thanksgiving and then needed to pick up earlier than I thought. They quickly replied and were able to accommodate. My turkey is definitely a big boy, wow!
10/10 will place an order with AV Birds for next year. Thank you AV Birds.
