The best fabric and quilting store in the panhandle. They have literally anything you could be looking for. Great selection of high quality jig-saw puzzles also.
They have more things than just fabrics. Any type of print you could possibly want. Sales staff are great. Very nice, very knowledgeable. Numerous Sewing classes also. Easy access and all on one floor. If you’re a seamstress or quilter i highly recommend.

This place will take your breath away. I haven't seen this much fabric, notions and craft items under one roof since the heyday of the old fabric shops. The ladies are wonderful and the online store is fantastic. Of the 13 shops I visited during the All Florida Shop Hop this was my favorite.

I spent about 4 hours in A&E Fabrics while visiting the area for a beach vacation. They have everything you could think of! I am a seamstress for the public and a quilter (when I have time) and I found so many things here that normally I have to purchase online back home! Everyone there is really friendly and helpful and they made sure I had appropriate discounts for my purchase and they helped me find specialty items I needed. I wish I lived closer so I could patronize their establishment more than once a year! Great place! Great people! Oh - and they have like THREE ROWS of Halloween fabric! That totally floats my boat! lol! Really, a pleasure to visit this place!

Edited to add: I found their prices to be VERY reasonable and comparable to what I pay locally and online.. and in most cases, regarding garment fabric, their prices were LOWER than what I pay locally and online (locally for me equals at least 2 hours of driving because all my town has is a hobby lobby for garment fabric)

This is the catch 22.

Small Business owners have to charge more for the products they sell because they can not purchase in bulk.

A & E Fabrics & Crafts is truly a GREAT Specialty Shop in today's times. For a quilter or anyone whose medium is fabrics based, A & E Fabrics & Crafts would be your "I've died and gone to heaven or I've hit the jackpot" store! I'd estimate that 85% - 90% of their stock is fabrics.

+ If I was rating A & E Fabrics & Crafts based solely on the variety of fabric bolts (designs) that they carry, then I would gladly give them a 5+ star 🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟 rating.

If I was rating A & E Fabrics & Crafts based solely on Accessibility then I would sadly have to give them a One ⭐️ star rating at best.

A & E Fabrics & Crafts have a LOT of different fabric designs to choose from❣️ If you can not find the fabric design you're looking for here, there's a chance it doesn't exist yet. They had remnants for either $4.95 or $5.95 a yard and some fabric bolts for as little as $7.99 per yard (or per panel). Unfortunately for me, the majority of the bolts I saw were $10.99 and up per yard.

Accessibility is a different issue altogether and one I must address. We backed into the parking spot, so I don't recall if there is ramp access to this business or not. The doors are manual, so depending on your balance & and strength, you may or may not need assistance.

A very big "Heads-Up:" If You Have a Disability this business IS difficult to navigate depending on the mobility aid(s) you require for Your Mobility Independence. The majority of aisles are narrow, and several "dead-end."

I use a Rollator, and it was challenging at best to navigate within this business. The Rollator wheels brush up against and/or get caught up in the fabrics because the aisles are so narrow. I only viewed fabrics on ONE of the dead-end aisles. Why? Because backing out of that aisle was a nightmare and a Safety Hazard, there was no space or way to turn a Rollator around. This was very frustrating. The Rollator's front wheels kept catching on the fabrics as I slowly backed out of the aisle. Note: Backing up with a Rollator IS A Safety Hazard!!! --- If you use a wheelchair it will be virtually impossible to navigate through 90% of this business.

When one of the employees asked if I was finding everything okay, I made the comment about how challenging it is to get through the aisles. Sadly, the employees chuckled and said they chose to have a quantity of fabrics and HAVE to have narrow aisles.

The quantity of fabric designs to choose from aside, the ONLY other reason I'm willing to give this business three stars⭐️🌟⭐️ is because of the younger of the three employees there that day. The younger of the three offered to help me get a fabric if I saw one I liked but could not get to it. I truly appreciated her offer of assistance.

As for the other two employees there that day- Your Age is NOT an excuse to treat others poorly. I do my best not to call someone out based on their age in a negative way. The younger generation may get a lot of flack for their behavior, but our generation was actually taught proper behavior.

Acknowledged shortly after entering. No one hounding you or following you, matter of fact you have to go find them. Super sweet, cozy, loads to choose from etc etc (1 downsize is that's its far, but worth the trip of you're an avid seamstress.

So many choices of fabric!!! You will be overwhelmed. So be sure and bring a pattern to work from. Love this place! Make a trip here every year.
