The worst part of this “protection” plan is it does not protect anything on your furniture. My couch literally split in half when the main frame broke. I was told due to “a build up of stains and soiling” was the cause. This is a joke of a company. Only course from here is legal action. Please never use this company or if you have try to get an immediate refund.

My purchase was a lift chair for my aging father nearly 5 years ago. I also purchased a 5 year warranty, it worked fine until a week ago, it stopped reclining and lifting. I texted the repair link that was texted to me to my niece the fill because my father lives with her in another state. She incidentally selected an button that the chair was not working upon delivery so my clam was denied. I called Uniters and explained to them that, that was an error, that the chair worked fine until a week ago. That I purchased the chair for my father because he had surgery and was difficult for him to stand up after the surgery, so if it wasn’t working when it was delivered, we would have called then. It was fine until a week ago. I was told what was done was irreversible, what’s done is done and can’t be changed or rectified, even if I resubmitted the clam correctly. This is just a way not to live up to their obligation.

This company refused to cover my broken couch because according to the technician it was accumulated overtime. After explaining the damage was not done overtime, they still refuse to cover the couch. I submitted a claim as soon as we heard the loud crack and the whole side of the couch started to sag but yet they still refuse to cover it. The frame fell apart and somehow it is not covered. The company is impossible to get in contact with on the phone and when asking for a supervisor I was told a dispute had to be filed first. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Worst customer service and worst "coverage". DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY ON THIS COMPANY. ASSURANT HANDS THE WARRANTY "COVERAGE" OVER TO THIS COMPANY. ASSURANT NOR UNITERS CARES ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS.

VCF has stood behind their warranty and have done well by us. There is a bit of confusion as to which group is the one you might be dealing with with, but all were courteous and helpful. I had some difficulty in getting through the app, but a phone call got us taken care of.

It took weeks for them to come inspect the furniture. The inspector recommended replacing or repairing the piece. Uniters denied the claim, does not “listen” to the customer, i.e. did not read my dispute and replies with inaccurate information. NOW, I cannot even get them to return my messages. This is the first warranty I purchased for furniture and if this is the way it does, I’ll never do it again. I personally believe they figured out the sofa was no longer in production/they couldn’t get parts and they simply didn’t want to replace the piece. They don’t care about their consumers. This was a horrible experience and every time I look at the couch, I get upset. So poor.

I didn't think I would use the warranty service on a 2yo chair but things happen and the service was easy to activate along with working with value city .
After the claim was filed the service technician came to the house within a couple days. He filed his report and the claim was completed and I went to pick out my replacement chair.

EDIT- My husband is the name on the account. My review still stands that you guys are one of the most awful companies we have ever had to work with.

awful awful awful experience. We were sold on the warranty as we have kids and knew it could come in handy. Well the couch ripped in 5 different places - not by our children just the fabric being very awful for a couch. They keep denying it saying it's fraying not seam separation. Absolute joke. allllll their reviews are awful especially through living spaces soooo frustrated

******UPDATE***** Uniters reached to me directly and replied to my review below. I’m thankful for the follow up and wish it didn’t have to come to this level to get an honest review of my claim for covered issues.

They are unwilling to cover seams falling apart on my couch(obviously covered in a policy) citing “normal wear and tear”. I should have pressed further but life was busy. Just had a big tear on the same piece, unrelated to the first issue, and of course my claim was denied. Claim closed without any opportunity to explain the issues are unrelated. Will take your money but will find any way to not cover your claim.
