I have thought about this for a few months and really battled with myself over writing this. So back in early spring I took two Tansu Asian 3 step early 1920’s chest to ask Robert about what he thought. I wanted to sell them as my research found they are pretty valuable items. He suggested that we could put them in one of his auctions. I said I am not gonna give them away he agreed. He called and said the bids were too low and he would try to sell them in his store. eBay had several listed in the $700-$1500 range. So I agreed and let them stay with him. Several months go by and not a word from him. So I decided to just pick them up and either keep them or find a buyer. Low and behold a buyer contacted me and offered $700 for both. I said I will pick them up and get back with him the next day. Well Robert looked like a ghost when I walked in his store. He acted like I was crazy and he figured I just forgot about them. Now this is when you know who is a liar. He said I guess we sold them Puzzled I said you didn’t think about calling me, so I said well how much. He was fumbling and not looking me in the eye and then asked some helper how much they sold for and told the guy that it was $300 rite. So I said for each correct!? He still can’t look at me and said for both. I was pissed and could not believe after all the talk about these pieces he got $150 each, that was not the deal. Before I lost my shit and said give me my money which was $220 and left not a happy camper. I wish I videoed all of this. He had no documentation of the sale or a number or name and of the customer. Me and this guy went to the same high school and have some mutual friends. Goes to show you, you can’t trust this guy, he is shady and a gutless businessman. It’s not all about the money it’s about once a thief always a thief. Do not trust this individual he is a liar and a crook.

Auctions are very professional. Great items at the auction. I didn't win, but they had some really nice mahogany furniture going up. Went to a Live Auction and an Estate Sale. Very impressive. It was cool hearing the fast talking auctioneer. They have a Fire Truck outside. Can't miss it. A+++. Going to take the wife next time and let her bid.

My husband and I found this place today and am I glad that we stopped. I love digging for treasures and this place is just that. I found 4 pictures and what a great price the owner sold them to me for. I will have to come back very soon, so I can take my time and thoroughly go through this place on my own. The owner is super nice and helpful.

Definitely worth stopping in if you are visiting Pensacola's "Antique Row" on Navy Blvd. Have been buying and consigning here for 40+ years. I refer many of my clients to them as they offer free in-shop appraisals, estate liquidations and clean outs. Always a fun time at their estate sales. Robert is very knowledgeable on a wide range of antiquities and is an ancient coins specialist. I have witnessed customers get upset because Robert gives them an honest evaluation on something, and of course they get upset because their 25 year old mass produced art print isn't worth half what they paid for it. If Robert isn't an expert on something, he will let you know his limitations. Have always been very satisfied with my purchases and consignment transactions. Admittedly, the place is full of a great deal of merchandise and you might have to "dig around" to find what you are looking for, but I think that adds to part of the experience.

Before COVID, I was an avid Estate Sale customer. I went to estate sales offered by every major estate sale merchant in Pensacola, so obviously I attended many by Garth’s antiques. I bought hundreds of items, over many years, and resold them on my ETSY shop online. I found the items I purchased at Garth’s estate sales to be fairly priced and of high quality. I never had any item I purchased from Garth and resold online to receive a bad review or asked to be returned. Robert Garth knows the antique business. His pricing is fair to the seller and the buyer. I would recommend him without reservation.

It isn't your average antique store. No curio cabinets with china and toys. No dainty little price tags. Just bunches of stuff sitting everywhere. But having said that, they have tons of really cool antique furniture and other treasures. You just gotta dig. The owner is friendly and the workers are awesome. They do prefer cash there though so bring some with you.

Garth’s is great place to shop if you are looking for rare collectibles. This place had all
kinds of unique items that you can’t find anywhere else. Thanks to the great staff for helping us out! They are able to find those unique, historical, and rare items available in the Pensacola area. Online, in person, or auction for a win: A+++
