As a Rewards member, my first choice of hotel is always Holiday Inn Express. Never had an issue until now. We noticed when we entered the lobby that many ceiling tiles were down. We were told it was a water pipe problem. Our room on first floor had an awful odor (bleach/cleaner) so strong we asked for a different room....moved to third floor....better but still some smell. The next morning the ceiling tile problem in the lobby had worsened and was now dripping steadily ready to fall.....with black mold! Due to Spring Break finding another hotel would not have been easy. We feel we paid for a nice room as usual but were VERY disappointed. This hotel should have been closed for repairs and cleanup of mold. Curdled milk at breakfast also.

Once you made it beyond the lobby (long term unresolved leaks, exposed roof, pipes, etc.) and garbage bins being used to collect leaks and then beyond the flooded hallway to the elevator and finally into your room the only issue there was a damp and musty feel. Bathroom condition left alot to be desired. Room otherwise was adorned in a condition consistent with what one might expect from a remodeled Holiday Inn Express. Overall option of the location was very poor.

I stayed here for work, which my company paid for. When I checked in I was told they need a card on file for incidentals! I've never had to do that at any other hotel in my 40 years on this earth. I gave them my card and I was immediately charged a $50 incidentals fee. Then not 24 hours later I received a second charge for $70.99! This also happened to several of my crew members. They got us for nearly $1,500.00 in incidentals and the rooms were already paid for. I don't except being stolen from. This place is a scam. If any person were to do what they did that person would go to prison. It's going on 24 hours and I haven't been refunded a single penny.

A pipe broke in the hallway leading to our room. The floor was soaked which we had to walk on and brought it into the room. That made our rug and floors filthy. I asked them to get a wet vac and clean it up instead they chose to set two dehumidifiers on the floor with two cones. I Talked to the maintenance person and he indicated to me that the entire building was antiquated and all of the pipes required replacement. For the four nights we stayed there the floor was never vacuumed or dried. The reason I could not change my room was that I was near a door which was necessary due to my current handicap. I informed different people at the front desk of the situation and was promised that they would look into the situation. The liability for the motel was extremely high as I am sure that not only did I slip walking from the wet rug to a tile floor but other guests expressed safety concerns.

The family stopped here for a couple of nights to visit family after a cruise in June 2024. The rooms were ok. The location is conveniently located right off the freeway.
We enjoyed the outside pool which was clean and acceptable.
Fast forward to present (march 2025) where my wife and I were searching for our passports. Giving up the search, I said, “I’m sure they’ll turn up).
I got a call from an unknown , Vero Beach number, I declined the call, thinking it was spam. I got a call right back from the same Vero Beach number and decided to live dangerously, so I answered. It was Shawna R. from the Holiday Inn Express. She informed me that they found our passports and some jewelry that we left in the safe! 10 months after our stay, our passports turned up. Shawna sent them, the next day. We have our passports and jewelry. Thanks Shawna R. That is exceptional service and gets a 5 star rating in my book!

This hotel looks fairly new so everything was clean and looking really good including the fitness center and pool area. The only issue they are having a leak in the lobby that was being repaired, but it didn’t affect anything we were doing on our visit. The other issue is the cleaning crew did not dilute the cleaning solution properly, leaving a strong smell of cleaner in the room. We did notify the front desk - they said they would address it with their Head of Housekeeping. We aired out the room by turning on the fan & cracking the door. It was during the day & my family was with me so it didn’t bother me to have the door ajar while we were running around between the car, pool, etc.

Hello, Seems that hotel is undergoing water line, AC issues which is to be understood. Not sure if this affected the first floor rooms however our room 106 was very very sickening strong of a deodorizer to the carpet. I'm not sure exactly what the smell was masking however it was intense. We propped our door open to lessen the effect as we were in late both evenings. I would not want to stay in that environment again. I cant speak for the other rooms. I don't think I would recommend however I will have to stay due to proximity however I would definitely let the desk know I would need another room if that is a standard deodorizer for the hotel.

This was the second time staying at this location from 5 months ago. The rooms smelled very muggy and water leaking from the vents. The entire 1st. floor was a mess. The rugs were soaked and the ceiling tiles with water pouring down into buckets were still present from our last visit in November 2024. Again, as soon as you walk into the rooms, they smelled like a dirty mop. Very disappointed and probably will not be returning to this location.
