Our flight from Fort lauderdale to home had been canceled due to the weather, we had to stay one night at airport area. The spirit airline recommended the site which is Roomstorm, so we searched on the site and found this hotel. The site said it's only 2.4 miles from airport, but it's not true. It took 30 min. by uber and cost $40. We should not use the site, Spirit airline said it's discounted rate, but we checked other site the price was same. After we reserved the room, the confirmation email said " $30 resort fee" would be collected when we checked in. I think it's not fair. |The room was very small which was OK, but smelled bad. It smelled like sewage. To muffle the smell, there are perfume or something, it was too strong and made me feel sick. Very poor amenity, there were no shampoo or soap, or bath mat. The most terrible thing was the room air conditioner was way too noisy. My husband or I hardly slept that night. Even if we turned off it, the other rooms same noise was still very loud. The next door of the hotel is restaurant which was very noisy with loud music and people's chat. It's one of the worst experience of our hotel stay.|Stay away.

I had high hopes this resort would be a pleasure given it's location. I stayed 3 days. Unfortunately I was terribly disappointed.
No hot water. Reported it, claimed it was fixed, but it wasn't. Bathroom newly tiled, but the vanity was falling apart, no stopper in the sink, small shelf not secured to the wall correctly, Very dirty.
A total shame, with that location and a little effort this could be a nice resort. Do yourself a favor, choose another location.

The widespread practice of big hotel chains tacking on "resort fees" is repulsive. It's just a way to advertise a lower price and then screw customers on the back end.

It's really sad to see a small, local place like the Island Sands Inn adopting this same shady practice. When you're charging $300+ a night for a room in a converted house do you really need to tack on a $50 per night "resort fee"? The only "resort" aspect of this property is a tiny pool behind the building.

I like this property. It's convenient to Wilton Drive and usually a decent stay. But the after-sale "resort fee" is so shady and sad you get one star.

Unless you need to stagger home from the drive at 3 am up to your nipples in alcohol and strangers, just stay at one of the myriad other hotels in the area that don't engage in this stupidity.

This is an excellent Inn, I don’t know where to begin. Extremely clean, quiet, perfect location for everything Wilton Manors has to offer. So many bars and clubs within 2 blocks! Mike is an extremely gracious host. New to the area, he took extra time to orient me to the area and offer recommendations. He personally walked me to the room to assure all was in order.. The pool area is private and very clean. The room is well appointed. Oversized shower, large bath area, and a small but efficient kitchenette area. The bed was SO comfortable with lots of pillows. The other owner, Jim, is just as warm and caring. So wonderful you may not want to leave the property!

CAREFUL BOOKING THIS HOTEL. Booked and prepaid for a room and was informed when I got there that they double booked and could not accommodate me. I had to rearrange my entire evening had no place to shower for my meeting and had to scramble to find a more expensive alternative.

Perhaps the most difficult review I've ever written. I just spent 3 nights (Thur-Sat) at this establishment. A major + is it is literally yards from Wilton Manors Dr. and all the activity you could want and yes it is Florida sunshine. The establishment itself has seen better days and has new ownership. There are now two ( resorts?) joined as one. One salt water heated pool and one salt water unheated. The new ownership I feel is trying, but you just can't keep adding band aids to an existing problem. I received what was considered an upgrade, free, which made no sense. I gained a sofa in a room with no TV visibility, a bathroom, dated, had a shelf above the sink pulling away from the wall and unusable. The main room had a TV that at times in the evening the picture became so pixeled you could not watch it. Free WIFI, I had no password, the area with the hot tub was no access. To power all this were a system of power strips.||I should have been suspect when there was a large gap in reviews, date wise.||Frankly, to be charged $250 a night I felt raped and not in a good way, but like I said, pick your poison, The Drive is literally steps away. You make the call. I could have done plenty of LYFT rides for what I spent.
