I stopped in this adorable shop for the first time today and I wish I knew about it sooner. The staff were very kind and welcoming and there was something in the store for everyone. I’ll definitely be back soon for a book club event and buying some thrifted trinkets!

Great local bookstore, shared with a craft and knitting shop. I love the events the bookstore owner organizes, from poetry to sketching to local author talks and book launches. It’s fun to hang outside at the picnic tables and browse the selection of current titles for kids and adults. Sometimes the beverage cart from banjo is set up, too.

This bookstore has a great selection of children’s books. I had a mortifying experience here trying to use the Indie Bookstores coupon. I collected my five stamps last month from the plethora of incredible indie book shops in Atlanta. I decided to come to Book Bird to finish shopping for the holidays for my kids and pickup a few books with the coupon. The store was completely empty when I visited. I approached the counter and asked politely if the person working could help me use the coupon. She read the paper and then accused me of not having enough stamps. She said “There aren’t enough stamps. You only have four.” I politely pointed out a stamp to her that I thought maybe she missed. She said “I counted that one.” I pointed out another, totally confused at this point. She said again “I counted that one.” By now I just felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave. Clearly something was going on and she just didn’t want me to use the coupon but wouldn’t say so. I politely pointed to each of the five stamps/signatures and explained how I’d gone to the bookstores. It was just embarrassing. She then sighed and said “I need to call someone about this.” So she calls someone and asks for instructions on how to use the coupon (no problem) except that she says, as if I’m not standing there totally mortified, “Yeah and she wants to use it on more than one book! But I know it’s just for one book.” (We hadn’t discussed that at all - I’d simply brought two books to the counter.) I never said how many books the coupon was good for, and I never would’ve argued about that or anything. She then rang me up without saying anything except “need a bag?” While she stayed on the phone the entire time chatting. I left totally mortified feeling like a criminal having done something terrible.

Excellent local bookstore. Great place to bring the kids & a coffee from next door. They also have a large patio area with plenty of shade. If you’re looking for a book that’s hard to find, they can find it & special order it for you!

Adorable local book store with well-curated selection. A very cozy vibe with seating inside and a cute covered patio out front. It shares a space with Fiber Parts and Banjo coffee lounge. There's also a small vintage collection there. It's a neat place!
