Hello all! I don't WANT to write this bad review and I WISH I didn't have to write this bad review. However, the hypocrisy and irony is too hilarious to pass up. So here we go:
1. TO ANY SERVICE TECH HIRED BY QUICK and EASY TO DO WORK:
I worked 5.5 hours on their computer system Diagnosing and Repairing the problem. Unfortunately, their computer's Motherboard and CPU were fried because of a HUGE build-up of dust causing over-heating. I drove to Best Buy and bought a new Video Card HOPING that's all it was. When, it turned out it WASN'T the Video Output; it was determined the computer was not cheaply fixable.
They asked if I could save the data on the Hard Drive because IF THEY DIDN'T HAVE THAT DATA IT WOULD TAKE A MONTH TO RE-WRITE IT ALL. Well, I was able to recover the Data by removing the Hard Drive and connecting it to their other computer using an External Hard Drive Dock. This saved them a month's worth of time and effort.
After working the 5.5 hours; I asked to get paid. However, I realized that driving to Best Buy wasn't part of the Diagnostic nor Repairing process; so I took the 30 minutes off of the time owed (15 minutes to, and 15 minutes from Best Buy). Well, the owner wanted to pay me for ONLY TWO HOURS of "real work" (as he put it). He claimed the 30 minutes of driving shouldn't count to the time; however, I HAD ALREADY TAKEN OFF the 30 minutes BEFORE he even said anything! Then, he acted like I wasn't doing ANYTHING worth getting paid for the other 3 hours; as if I was just standing there with my hands in my pockets for that 3 hours. He kept saying, "I could have done it! I could have done that." but he DIDN'T do it and COULDN'T do it because he didn't even know how to backup his own data; which is why I HAD TO DO IT. After an argument, I left without getting paid.
However, one of his business partners, KIM from the Mobile Gas Station on Cooper and Chandler Blvd agreed to pay me what the owner of this "Quick and Easy" wouldn't. She wanted me to take the Hard Drive from the owner's old computer and install it in another computer and deliver it to her tomorrow. However, she never held up her end of the bargain, neither and I STILL haven't been paid despite seeing her twice.
THE HYPOCRISY: The owner has items in his store for which he SEVERELY over-charges. However, he gets out-raged if he THINKS he's being over-charged. LOL!
THE IRONY: I quit being a Computer Technician just this past Wednesday because I was sick and tired of dealing with people like the owner. I only did this ONE LAST JOB because Kim asked me to. Too bad it left me with such a negative experience. Now, I will have to do ONE more job so I can leave being a Computer Tech on a POSITIVE experience. Hopefully, I don't run into ANOTHER one of these cheap-skates.
This day was ESPECIALLY bad for me: I had attended training for my NEW job at 7:30 - 1:30 p.m. I was VERY tired; VERY hungry; AND was stuck working in a very tight space constantly being interrupted by the employees (it's not their fault; they were just doing their jobs). Then, the owner pulls THIS after all I've done to help him; saving him and his employees an ENTIRE MONTH'S WORTH OF TIME AND EFFORT. Ridiculous!
This owner is complaining that me, a Computer Technician, is charging ONLY $30 per hour. However, MOST Computer Technicians will EASILY charge $50, $60, $80, $100 and even $120 per hour. I'd like to hear the "war stories" of those Techs when they deal with this guy because I won't be dealing with him at all. But, there's a part of me which DOESN'T want to hear those "war stories." And fore that reason, I write this review.
TO ALL TECHS: AVOID THIS PLACE AS IF IT WAS THE PLAGUE!
2. TO FUTURE CUSTOMERS:
-The prices on most things are VERY high; even for a convenience store.
-The store is not very clean.
-The owner is NOT friendly.
The employees at this Quick and Easy were very nice, though. The owner is a problem. He's WAY too cheap for his own good and the good of the store.
I hope the read was entertaining; because my experience was not.
Take care and stay safe, y'all.
