Stopped by for a coffee and a pastry. At 12:40 on a Monday there weren’t many pastries in the case which I take as a good sign. I had the lemon scone, which was absolutely delicious. Looking forward to returning in the future. The large variety of breads looked very appealing.

Went on a Friday morning and found a very limited selection. Picked up a baguette that tasted more like a day-old grocery store loaf—dry, chewy, and lacking the crust and texture of a proper baguette. The only way to salvage it would be to turn it into garlic bread at home. Definitely not worth the price. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Got a salad and the turkey sandwich. The salad was 75% croutons and barely had any veggies. There were 2 slices of thin turkey making it a brie and apple sandwich. By looking at the menu and the names of the items, they need to be changed to reflect what we consumed. A bread bowl with apple and brie sandwich.

I've lived in flag practically my entire life, and just recently learned about this place. And boy, I've never looked forward to making up for lost time this much before.
The bread is spectacular, as are the pastries. Really anything you get is going to be incredible. If I were to recommend something, it would be crime if I didn't say the cheddar and jalapeño sourdough. It is out of this world, I'm pretty sure I ate half the loaf just driving home.
I also loved their "effing hot" salsa, it goes on pretty much everything I make nowadays.
All in all, a fantastic surprise.

I love the local feel. Breads are good, especially the cranberry hazel nut. Fresh sandwiches made to order!

My experience is from buying from them at the Flagstaff Farmer's Market. The sourdough baguette was not very acceptable - it lacked the glutinous moist chewy texture necessary. The croissant had to have been repackaged or baked from the frozen par-bake cases of croissants from Sam's Club, they tasted exactly the same and lacked layering. The blueberry scone was also very dry, dryer than a scone should be.

All in all, it was less than alright - I thought I was buying from Crust, another bakery from Phoenix that has been at the Flagstaff Farmer's Market before... they're excellent.

My suggestion would be for them to tweak their recipes, as I do understand it is hard to bake at this elevation. They could also switch their offerings - rather than more difficult high-altitude recipes, they could focus on muffins, banana bread variations, brownies, german pretzels and bagels - all of those things are so much easier to bake than making loafs of bread up here.

I want nothing but success for them, but have to be honest in my reviews. Besides, better to be honest and see improvement. I'll give them a shot again eventually and will update my review.
