I have been a loyal customer of Olsen’s Grain - Flagstaff for my horses for 25 years. Over the years, I’ve always felt welcome, and the customer service was second to none. The team members knew my name, showed genuine interest beyond just making a sale, and created a welcoming, small-town feel. While I’ve occasionally had an order loaded incorrectly, these instances were rare and easily overlooked given the consistently excellent service.

However, over the past two months, things seem to have taken a downturn. I typically spend around $800 a month on feed, but my last four orders have been loaded incorrectly. Hay is often out of stock, the store occasionally closes earlier than posted hours, and the staff seems unhappy. On multiple occasions, I’ve had to remind cashiers to log my dog and cat food bags for the “buy some, get one free” promotion, which was never an issue before.

Additionally, I’ve noticed prices are climbing, and some of the products I rely on are either out of stock or no longer carried. It feels like the store is losing the personal, small-town touch that made it special.

I truly value Olsen’s Grain and hope to see it return to the level of service and community-focused atmosphere that made it my go-to for so many years

I have been a loyal customer of Olsens in Flagstaff for over 20 years. With horses, chickens and dogs I have been in there a lot! I can honestly say how disappointed I am in what it has turned into over the past few months. This is no longer my hometown feed store. They are expensive. The staff is completely different, and the worst part is they have no idea what they are doing. This morning I heard a customer ask a question and the staff member said “I have no idea, I’m a city boy.” Seriously? I am going to do my best to never shop there again, or very bare minimum

Lots of great options for your pets. Went in to buy raw food for the dog and had many options to choose from. The service staff were very helpful and friendly.

I've been shopping here for years and have always had great customer service, but my experience this time was extremely disappointing. The cashier was very impatient and unprofessional and I have never had such a negative interaction here especially because Olsen's has prided itself on friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, I do not plan on returning any time soon.

Could not get out of there fast enough. Worker seemed inconvenienced by our existence. Extremely degrading and honestly out of everywhere i have ever shopped, the rudest person i have ever come across personality and attitude wise, I would not allow him to be in front of customers. We walked in looking for bulk feed options as clients of mine had recommended here because of friendly workers and they may be able to help at buying 2-3 thousand pound whole corn custom orders. The worker (red beard at counter) didn't understand what we were trying to do which is fine but quickly became irritated at not knowing the answer and began to talk down to us and get a tone and attitude i have never seen in anyone working a counter. As a store manager myself i would have fired him. He completely degraded and talked down to us as customers and i will not be back and i will notify my clients of the treatment we received. If you sont offer bulk feed that we can customer order thats fine. But there is no reason to roll your eyes, scoff, get irritated and then tell us to step out of line i will have to get my manager. While also getting a snarky tone and attitude. Absolutely ridiculous.

Shop here for all your farm food. Great store...have cute footprints on floor to the animals food. It cool. Service wonderful... Don't shop at "big box" stores SHOP LOCAL.

Great store. They have a good supply of pet food and supplies. They also have locally made honey.
