Masa for the tamales sucks this year. Very bland and lacking flavor. Grandma typically buys Masa here every year and this year she was disappointed. She called today to ask if it was a bad batch and the customer service was rude and unhelpful. Avoid this store for your tamales this year. We’re not coming here again.

This score is for the way they are handling the way they are selling their delicious masa. I tell people how good it is and worth the trip. I drove from Placentia to the Downey store and when I arrived I saw the line that went around to the back of the store. Again the masa is very delicious and it’s what I expected. I went inside the store and spent about 5 minutes trying to find out how long it would take for the long line to go through. I spoke to three workers and they tried to explain how their system works but during those 5 minutes the counter was empty and the masa was waiting. The security guard finally brought about 5 parties they took their masa and then no one came through. I purchased something and waited another 5 minutes and during that time they allowed another 5 people and no one else. At that pace all of the people waiting will wait long for an unorganized system from the Amapola. What a shame I was not able to purchase my favorite masa. If you get a chance to try it and have the patience to wait for a line that is not needed especially with a security guard and his gun you will thank me. The masa does deserve a 5 star but I can’t wait at the pace they are going.

Masa during the holidays? No where else but this spot! Been coming here for years. My grandmother (RIP) made tamales from scratch (clean & boil the corn and then send it off to the mill to grind and prep it) she approves of this locations masa and that’s worth gold!

If they know that they sell they best Maza and a lot of people go there why don’t they come up with a better method of distributing their mass lines are ridiculous. Don’t they understand people drive from far away please find a better way and faster way to distribute the massa, specially on holidays please can someone be smart enough to come up with a method For faster customer service

Great market. Amazing selection and decent prices. Very clean, friendly staff. Fresh tamale masa available every day and great hot deli with delicious to-do foods! Highly recommend!

I dont they like the Menudo they sell there they cut the meat in big pieces and they dont put enough corn my plate had 4 corn on it.!
