I enjoy reading reviews—especially the negative ones—because everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. That said, I don’t think anyone has the right to humiliate. I wanted to share our recent visit to Angelo’s Market and Restaurant, which was a great experience from start to finish.

The last time we were there was in the early 2000s, when it stood alone surrounded by open land. This time, we found it in a roadside strip mall—different, but still full of charm and uniqueness.

We went with friends and, unlike some of the negative reviews, had an enjoyable and relaxing evening. While we waited (not long at all), the ladies browsed the market. I had a chance to chat briefly with the owner and confirm that yes, it was in a different location back in the day.

As we were seated, a one-man entertainer greeted us warmly and provided live music throughout the evening. Our server was friendly and engaging. We never felt rushed—the whole meal took about 2.5 hours, giving us time to talk, laugh, and enjoy ourselves.

The food presentation was beautiful, and the taste matched the visuals. It’s clear the staff takes pride in both the kitchen and the guest experience.

Thank you to everyone at Angelo’s for a memorable night. We’ll definitely be back with more friends and family. And for anyone reading: sure, experiences vary—but kindness in your review goes a long way.

How I missed this place over the last two years I will never know. Stopped in for lunch and wasn't sure if it was a market or a restaurant. Having spent many days in Italy, I figured it may be the typical market with a sit down area. Was I every surprised as that was exactly what it was. From the outstanding wait staff, I felt like I was back in Italy. A very large menu and I was amazed at the incredible food served here. When you have to comment multiple times how great something is, you know you have found a place that knocks it out of the park. Ambiance felt spot on, and there is indeed a well stocked Italian market inside. I felt like I was in my Italian friends well stocked basement and instantly fell in love with it. Congratulations to the owner. You guys literally define perfection in authentic Italian dinning. Well done!

The waiter at another Italian restaurant in the city introduced us to several Italian restaurants and food markets in Venice. We were new neighbors and we were so excited to check them out 🥰

The first time I bought only meatballs and bread at Angelo's... the meatballs didn't seem to have much meat... the bread was too hard and I had a hard time cutting it with a knife... although I was a little disappointed, I still hope to go back again and explore this food store and restaurant that is filled with Italian accents and should have authentic Italian flavors.

Angelo’s withstood the hurricane that hit Florida on the 9th. My family said most stores were closed on the 12th, but him got a great Margarita Pizza at Angelo’s.

After the hurricane, I returned to Venice and couldn't wait to come back here with my family and booked dinner.

I returned to Venice after the hurricane and couldn't wait to come back here with my family and book dinner again. The Corvina fish had a delicate texture, a light butter and sweet flavor, and the sauce was delicious... the red wine was good and inexpensive... the servers were kind and thoughtful.

The best atmosphere, staff, service, presentation and food ever! Barry (the live music talent) is wonderful and quite entertaining. Federico in service is top tier and makes the experience enjoyable beyond comparison! The shopping inside is authentic and amazing like Italy and this place is definitely our favorite!

I had a little craving for good pizza, so I stopped in for lunch. To my absolute surprise, this little Italian restaurant has a market, deli, and a bakery. Their menu and specials were creative and delicious.
I can’t believe I didn’t know this place was here. It has instantly become one of my favorite places in Sarasota/Venice. Thanks for a great Friday!

Excellent spot for homemade pasta, AND they have gluten free! Never had a bad meal here. My fiance is Sicilian and says it tastes just like his grandma's Sunday pasta. Also excellent selection of desserts! I love the flourless chocolate cake

GO HERE. Just do it! We had many friends encourage us to try Angelo's over the last year (moved here from MI) and we just didn't believe the hype I guess? On a quiet Saturday night my hubby and I were craving pizza. We weren't too far from the restaurant so we decided to try it. I'm VERY picky about the atmosphere of my "date night" restaurants and wasn't too sure about eating in a market. The indoor dining is quite small - but cozy. We ate inside because Florida that day felt like a sauna. The outdoor space is really lovely as well, though. Our server was attentive, funny, and smart. They brought us two complimentary glasses of prosecco - nice touch! Next came a basket of their homemade bread with oil and cheese. By now I'm starting to feel like I'm in Italy (this was aided by the numerous people actually speaking Italian in the restaurant). We asked our server for recommendations on a pizza and she suggested the Parma. GOOD LORD PEOPLE. Pizza heaven! Parmesan, mozzarella, fresh arugula and loads of prosciutto. More than enough for two people. As we left we made sure to let our server know we would be back, and often. Definitely a new "go-to" place for us!
