I had an extremely disappointing experience at Banou International Foods. I was shocked to discover that the staff was cutting halal meat with pork meat. When I caught the person in the act, it was clear that they were not following proper practices. This is not only unprofessional but completely disrespectful to Muslims who rely on halal meat. I expect better standards of hygiene and respect for religious practices, especially when running a business that caters to the Muslim community. I will not be returning, and I urge others to be cautious as well.

It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but they had a lot of really interesting foods, and some hard to find spice mixes and ingredients. The man at the counter was happy, smiling, and helpful. I will be returning!

I do not recommend this store to anyone, everything looks very messy and dirty. I bought a package of cream, although it had not yet expired, but it was spoiled. I also wanted to buy sausage, and the seller looked at a big loaf and put it in the fridge and said that it cannot be sold because it is not in a good condition. I wonder why they keep old and moldy stuff in the fridge? Definitely, if the health officer visits this store, he will seal it.

Always you can find expired merchandise on shelf. I returned told the guy is expired and the guy put it back in cooler.😳

The best Egyptian grocery store and in the Bay Area, everything you missing from back home food you will find it in Banou and Hany the best catering chef, he cooking all the Egyptian food and his prices is affordable

Sorry, but this is NOT a Persian grocery. They didn’t have Saffron, their Berry (zereshk) was at least 10 years old. Rrally small shop. We can out of state and saw the good review and Persian name (Babu) thinking this must be a Persian grocery. NOPE!
