Nice store, they have a good selection of fishing supplies. Good overnight stay. Tons of RVs. Busy during the day but got pretty quiet at night.
We're in a 38' class A w/ toad. There is plenty of room and lots of big rigs.

This is Cabelas! What is there not to like!? Of course it is a five star review! Any man’s dream is this store!! Glad we have it in South Anchorage! Premier outdoor store so you might pay a bit more but that’s okay! Great gear here.
Staff I encountered today really helped me out and made sure I got the best price. So there you have it!! I got both today! Thank you Cabelas!!
Photos are just my favorite animals and fish in the store. My kids love that part!

I have used their empty parking lot as an after business hours, RC drag strip, and testing grounds for quite a while. I have had employees and management stop after closing, on their way home, and watched the RC cars and loved it. Very nice and very friendly people. Other businesses around town could learn from them and how they treat the public.
5 stars all day long.

What an AMAZING store! So many cool animals taxidermied that it makes the store visit just amazing! There are also some aquariums! A must see

Great outdoors store. If they don't have it you don't need it.
It's also a stunning display of taxidermy art as well as two very large fish tanks all displaying the fish and animals of Alaska.

I love Cabela’s, and this location is no exception! The entryway is gorgeous, and nothing is cooler than a piper cub with floats. Felt just like an Alaskan Cabela’s should! Plenty of firearms in their selection, and a big spot full of things for dogs. The waterfall was cool, and the taxidermy was fun to look at. Staff was very friendly and helped me find what I was looking for. Highly recommend visiting, even if it’s just to walk around and see the cool sights!

This is really nothing against Cabela’s , unless they train their employees to be extremely condescending…which I doubt. My wife and I went into the gun selection and after a spirited sales pitch with the handgun salesman we uncovered that I could only buy a handgun if I were an Alaskan resident. Ok, that’s fine, laws are laws. After we continued shopping I decided that I would purchase a lever action short rifle because I had one years ago and missed it. It would also offer protection if we needed it during our stay. That’s when we met John. What a miserable experience from then on out. He hounded me (a 43 year old life long gun owner and user) asking what I would possibly need a gun for, all the while standing in front of the display and refusing to be reasonable. I was confused but still tried to get some info. Meanwhile my sister in-law and wife were too angry at how he treated me and walked away. Long, horrible story later, I walked out and went to Sportsman’s Superstore where we met a wonderful lady that helped me find a beautiful 44 mag lever action! She was a pleasure to deal with and knew how to treat a customer correctly. Sorry Cabela’s- John should be out back folding cardboard boxes.

Love their customer service. I also had an issue with a bark collar, it wasnt charging. I was able to exchange it,no problem. They always go above and beyond. Me and my dog feel spoiled when we go in. Great products, great service.
