Been going in here for a few weeks now. Really friendly folks working here and got me into some dream coins cheaper than I could find anywhere else. Like I just got a gorgeous 1921 peace dollar ms62 for a great price yesterday. Love this place. Only thing is they’re cash only so come prepared!

I highly recommend this place - probably the best coin shop in the Bay Area. I have been buying and selling coins at Castro Valley Coins & Currency for several years. Greg and Apollo are knowledgeable, honest and courteous. In my opinion they pay significantly more for incoming material than any other nearby coin store. They also offer good deals if you are looking to buy silver or gold.

My dad was a football official in the '50s and '60s and gave me his flipping coin. I now use it when I'm the referee for high school football games.
It was very very tarnished. I took it in here and it's like new.

This place is not fancy but they know the business. Went to several other local coin buyers and Castro Valley Coin offered me double what anyone else offered. Don’t waste your time like I did, just go here first. I guarantee you’ll walk away knowing you got the best value for your coins

today I was stop by there. This guy was very nice. I have a like John bunch going and these guys give me a really good really good price. I try to set my going to be there and then say you know where the code is the word so much, so what about you? I asked for a specific with the one penny and they literally give me to me for free nice guy. I always remember this guy.

I came here from San Ramon to buy on the recent dip in precious metals, and the storekeeper helped me find a beautiful 1883-M Victoria Sovereign, as well as a collection of foreign & US silver coins. He seemed very knowledgable about what he was doing and with a bit of bargaining, it's very easy to get a great price that's cheaper than the best online stores. For instance, after a bit of bargaining, I got $15 face in Mercury dimes for a like $0.30 cheaper per $1 face than the best online store. I hope to be back soon!

I get silver coins from them as gifts for other people. I just need the silver coins to be of the current year. They were always very nice and gave me a great price only a little over spot. The one time they didn't have a silver coin for the current year, they called up a neighboring business and asked them for me if they had a silver coin. They went above and beyond to refer me. Will keep on buying from them.
