Really not as simple as one, two, three.... Cal to Ed was told I would have to call on Saturday to make an appointment to sell called on Saturday they were so sorry not taking appointments due to inventory...called the next Saturday at 11 am and the whole week of buying was completely booked.... This is not a Taylor Swift concert.....Every spot all week was booked by 11am...you have been open for an hour! Sorry just find that super hard to believe. Unless there is only one or two spots that you take all week. The young lady on the phone said uh uh between every sentence...not sure if she was listeng
to someone else and relaying information if she was new and winging it. Whatever the case it was not a great call. Not her fault. Poorly managed.

Terrible experience, the worker is literally standing there doing nothing. I bring in 4 totes and she states I have to make an appointment NEXT week and they go by appointment. She’s sitting on her hands doing absolutely nothing in a dead store and turns me away to make an appt for next week? This never happens to me in the Ellenton location. Don’t waste your time coming to this location, I hope they go out of business to make room for a company that actually values their customers!!

I am a pretty seasoned thrifter and consignment shopper. I really want to love this place. I’ve been in about three times. First and foremost they need to get online and order the hotel air diffusers. The place smells like a goodwill. Most all of the upscale thrift stores use a diffuser. Even Plato’s closet smells good. This is unacceptable.
2nd I am 38 and I would think I am the target audience, but unfortunately this place seems to be wanting to bring in only old money. This store is only fit for senior citizens at the current time. I brought in brand new express items with tags, trending business outfits anbd dresses and many things with tags- and they only wanted two tops that were Michael Kors. As I went through the store there were shoes and items that were very worn. I am very disappointed. This place could be GREAT, but it needs a better business plan. It needs to accept items for women in their 30’s as well.

Great way to sell brand clothes. They have a little variety of everything. You can find real pants to shorts with waist bands and zippers, even have petites.

We went there later on a Sunday and they let us shop 1/2 hour after their closing time. Went back on Monday and they had SO MANY WONDERFUL shoes and clothing we were there at their closing. AGAIN, they let us shop as we found so many amazing things from shoes to apparel. Ashley was so
gracious and nice. Great prices and fantastic quality. Take the opportunity to spend some time there. I promise you will find some treasures. Thank you, The Wisconsin Duoyou

Went to the Sarasota location for the first time today. Bri was very friendly and had great customer service skills. The store was very neat and organized making it easy to find certain items. Prices were great and I will definitely be back.

I really really wanted to like this establishment. I think the concept is excellent but unfortunately they hardly ever take purchases. They advertise to be a place where you can take your clothes and get paid a little bit upfront versus a traditional consignment. I was thrilled to find another place in town that does consignment this way. However, the experience has been disappointing. The staff are all very friendly however, it has been a major inconvenience to be able to actually consign with them. I have attempted to drop off clothing during the times that they state they take consignment and unfortunately, every time they have said they are not buying. I have tried upon opening, I have called on Mondays, and they have said to come back in on Thursday and I have tried calling on the weekends and they said to come by Monday morning and it seems that every time I am able to call or come by during their hours, they will not buy clothing. It seems that there are some unrealistic limits on their purchasing, and it makes it near impossible to work with them. A constant cycle of “try again on this day or that day”.

The staff are friendly, and the shop is lovely to visit and purchase from but very disappointed with the actual consignment process.

I stopped into clothing mentor today to sell some clothes. I had never been in but had just cleaned out my closet. A woman was in front of me with a bag full of clothes, and the woman behind the counter who was ringing was pretty abrupt with the woman and told her they could only take 35 items and what was on the board. The woman selling nicely said that she wished she had know that last week because someone else told her the week before that she could bring anything. The woman had a bag full of very nice clothes many with the tags still attached. We both waited a bit and then a really nice young girl came up and began helping the woman, who again explained the situation. The girl was wonderful and very helpful . During there conversation the cashier who I believe was some kind of manager appeared to be very irritated, interrupted the conversation and again was very rude to the women selling. I was incredibly uncomfortable with the situation, and the other three customers near the cash wrap and the young girl working all seemed equally uncomfortable. I ended up leaving and donating the clothes I had as a result of it and another customer left the same time I did, and told me in the parking lot that she was shocked at how the associate addressed the woman in the store. I know that I will never personally shop or sell to clothing mentor after seeing that in the store. I have been a retail manager for over 20 years and that experience made me embarrassed for the young girl working, the woman selling, the customers shopping and the store. I hope they are able to attract more customer service friendly employees in the future.
