Hurricane Milton destroyed our old pool cage and we contacted CRAluminum about building a new up-to-code replacement cage. The sales contact, Josh Bryant, returned our call immediately and visited our site the next day. This was just after a major hurricane and no other company was even answering calls so immediately we were impressed. He looked over our site, gave us our options and did some preliminary measurements and a gave us a good timeline and cost estimate right on the spot. We made our design choices and accepted the price (very good, by the way) and timeline (way ahead of other companies). CRA produces their own cages in house so there is no waiting for subcontractors. Customer service representative liaison, Nick Cain, kept us informed of the timeline and upcoming dates. CRA created preliminary architectural drawings of what the cage will look like and where the doors will be located. We signed off on the drawings and they stuck to their timeline. Precise measurements were taken and the materials were fabricated and delivered on the expected date. The following day the assembly crew arrived to erect the structure. The crew worked diligently and in good humor until the job was finished. There were enough people on site to keep the work moving forward at a quick pace. Foreman Leslie attended to all the details and issues and made sure the workmanship was top notch. It’s built and braced for the worst weather and all the parts and materials match the dark bronze color of the cage. Holly gave the cage a quality control inspection and connected the ground wire in preparation for the county inspection. Josh Kunish, permit manager, let us know when the inspection would take place and when it had been approved. We are very pleased with the results and process, and very happy and thankful of all the people that were involved in the production of our new pool cage. We highly recommend CRAluminum.

As a result of Hurricane Milton, we lost our pool cage and it landed in our swimming pool.
Commercial Residential Aluminum to the rescue
Joe DiRocco provided a quick estimate and got us in line quickly when other companies weren’t even returning calls. He visited one additional time with Tom Teffenhart, the owner to expedite the order process.
Tom again visited our home to resolve a Sarasota county comment to the permit process…
When the material became available, we were scheduled and the cage was assembled fully in two days. We couldn’t be more pleased. The crew were professional, polite and responsive, couldn’t be more pleased.

We are building a pool and the pool company we hired uses CRA to install their pool cages. After a long wait to get on the schedule, CRA finally came out to install the cage the days before Christmas. They arrived late on the first day and seemed rushed to get the structure up before dark. When we went out to inspect their work, we noticed the entire north side of the cage is leaning. None of the vertical bars are straight on that side and the door is completely crooked. My kids told me it looks like a fun house and my neighbors had also called it to my attention as it’s very noticeable from the street. It’s that bad and embarrassing. We cannot move forward with our pool project until the cage passes inspection, and this will not pass inspection. We cannot use the deck due to the structure now being a safety issue. What a disaster. This cage cost us nearly $29,000 and this is what we have to show for it- an embarrassing, unusable leaning structure. We will likely now have to redo pavers and landscaping will be impacted. We had been warned about using a pool company that contracts with CRA but really liked the pool company so moved forward. Hard lesson learned. None of my neighbors used CRA and their cages look beautiful, and were less expensive. I do not recommend CRA, there are plenty of other better companies who can install straight beams.
Update 1/7: As Jomo stated, the crew returned on 1/3 to correct the faulty structure. While the team went above and beyond to fix the issues, they did not complete the job (they did fix the major issues preventing us from passing inspection). The field supervisor promised us he would return 1/6 to complete the work. I should have known better. Toward the end of the day 1/6, our pool manager reached out to CRA and were told they would be out 1/7 instead due to a family emergency. On 1/7, our pool manager again reached out to CRA around lunchtime and was told that the supervisor from CRA was onsite but did not want to be in the way of other contractors working on the pool project so he left without ever notifying us he was even here. We have now been waiting around on this person to show up for 2 days for no follow through. We told CRA that due to their delay, that other contractors had been delayed and that we would have to have some work done simultaneously at this point. We were told they would work around the other contractors. I really wanted to be able to increase my rating and take down this negative review, but for the amount of money this company charged us, I am completely unimpressed by how hard it is to just get the initial job completed correctly.
Update 1/28: The work was finally completed. This pricey job was supposed to be completed by 12/24. We went through several weatherstrips as they were breaking after a single opening of the door. While we are happy with the final product, we are nervous about longevity given all the installation issues.

I don’t really expect a whole lot out of subcontractors and this is truly why. They got the job done, one guy installed two sections of screen And cage with a door on our outside patio. Other than tightening the sill anchors so tight it dimpled the metal I can look past that. But the finish work was pretty terrible. I see Hundreds of these cages installed by CRA And the finish work isn’t much different. Just understand what you’re getting.

I contracted with CRA to expand my lanai and I was really impressed with the work that they did,. The 2 teams they had here - 2 men to lay the pavers did a beautiful job. They were very efficient and made sure the area was completely cleaned up before they left. The next day four young men came to install the lanai cage and screening. They worked tirelessly and in sync with each other. They did the most fabulous job. Tito was a very conscientious and thorough installer who managed the group. I’ve never seen four men work together as a team like they did.
Issel Baker who works for CRA was very effective to help me with paper work and whatever I need. When I had a question I would call her. She was always there to answer questions and make sure I was comfortable with the decisions. She did a fabulous job keeping me informed and is a great communicator. She does an excellent job. Scott Shaw, the field supervisor came every day to follow up and make sure that everything was on schedule and to make sure all appropriate work had been completed. The CRA team is one of the most efficient and conscientious teams I have worked with. If you are in need of a lanai expansion, pool cage, etc I would highly recommend CRA. They stand behind their work and follow through with what the say. They told me step-by-step what they were going do and it all went together beautifully,
Several of my neighbors were also very impressed and have asked for my contact at CRA.

CRAluminum was great to work with on the pool enclosure project from start to finish.. From Jon the salesman who sat down and explained the product, options and process. Gave me a package of information with sketches, contract and my choices. And we went over some custom design alternatives which i really appreciated and chose at no extra cost. To the office staff and Keith Cain who walked me through the steps and scheduling to Jesse the builder/installer. Jesse is amazing and is very personable, professional and knowledgeable, answered any questions I had, asked me about placement on doors and he did an outstanding finished job. The materials are excellent quality and the cage looks amazing. 5 stars. I highly recommend them.

Our pool cage went down during Hurricane Milton and we had a sales rep from CRA come out just a few days later. The salesperson was great. We went through all the details and they got us the best price we could find out of anywhere else. There were a couple of miscommunications that occurred between sales department and the scheduling department that had me worried the cage would not be finished on time. However, after expressing my concerns, CRA listened and worked hard to make sure the delivered and built the cage on time and it was an overall positive experience.
The best part of the entire process, by far, was the install crew! They came out and were very fast/hard workers. They asked my opinion on several details about the cage to make sure I was happy with everything they were doing. They were very responsive and were more than happy to accommodate any small changes I wanted to make. I could feel they wanted to make sure that I was 100% satisfied with their work and I am. The crew did amazing work and the cage is perfect.

I selected CRA based upon their reputation and other jobs they had performed within my community. Lesly was the crew lead and him and his team did a fantastic job. Scott was my Project Lead and was great. He addressed all my questions and followed up on the work the crew completed to ensure it was exactly right. Josh B. was my sales lead and he did a wonderful job walking me through the entire process from beginning to end. I can't say enough about this company and would highly recommend them.
