What a fun little town and the perfect general store. There was such a nice variety of items, very efficient helpers and just a nice overall atmosphere. The prices seemed a bit high compared to some other shops we had gone to with the same items, but I love going to stores like this.

The Dahlonega General Store is probably my favorite general store I have ever visited. It has small town feels with a great variety of jams, nick knacks, and souvenirs that aren’t mass produced or generic. The store itself has novelty and you can’t help but to giggle with all the silly little things it has. Absolutely loved this time capsule.

I think this might just not be my kind of shop, so take with a grain of salt and hope everyone enjoys their time in this wonderful town. The General Store is a bit touristy for my taste, and while it does offer unique candies and sodas, I don’t think there’s anything in there I’d want to purchase, personally. If you have kids, they’ll probably love it. As everyone else has said, incredibly busy and crowded. The General Store could be great for a Dahlonega-specific souvenir, but I would overall recommend Crown and Bear as a gift shop instead if what you’re looking for doesn’t have to be Dahlonega-specific, as there are way more unique and (in my opinion) less touristy items for purchase available there.

Such a great shop! Definitely more than just a typical souvenir gift shop. It has a definite vintage theme and they even have a great selection of old school candies. My kids had fun browsing around and so did I!

The Dahlonega General Store is a charming throwback to bygone eras and simpler times. This place is oozing with nostalgia! They have all your grandmother's childhood favorites...candies, toys, and other novelties. They offer a 5 cent cup of coffee, on the honor system...just precious. They have tons of metal signs, little ceramic animals, carved walking sticks, knives, rocks and gemstones, souvenirs from the area, as well as local food products and specialty sodas.

They have quite a collection of vintage machines that still work, such as the Fortune Teller, Wizard, Uncle Sam, Love Meter...I couldn't resist trying out a few of these...so fun! Our daughter was impressed by the barrels of marbles they have that you can buy by the cupful.

There's also a cool retro cigarette vending machine and roasted peanuts for $1.99 a bag. The staff was friendly and helpful. I only wish the store stayed open later than 6:00 pm, especially during the summer. Other than that, I have no complaints...fun place for all ages!

The Dalonega General Store is a "must-visit" for any visitor and a tradition for many families and people. Full of vintage antiques ranging from a working player piano to a vintage cigarette machine, one can find rare oddities, vintage brand snacks, locally made goods, and specialty craft sodas along with all kinds of kitsch, souvenirs, artwork, and about 1,000 other things. I know when we go my family INSISTS on visiting it - and it's always a fun place to look around, and get that craft soda you just can't find anywhere else.

Walked around the little town and stopped at the general store, super cute, they have all sorts of everything from salt water taffy to stickers, wine glasses and wall decor. Stop by, enjoy and buy something. Lol

Much more than a general store. It’s crowded during peak tourist time so suggest you visit on an off season to view all the items. Nonetheless still worth a visit if you’ve never stopped in.
