Ace is truly a friendly place to shop for your home improvement and maintenance needs. Folks are incredibly genuinely helpful and love what they do. At other places, sales associates can’t be bothered, that is if you even manage to find someone to help. I love coming here for my projects!

Called and asked if they work on small engines. They said yes, payed a 30 fee to get them to work on it. Days turned to weeks, no response or update, called and they said they guy working on my equipment was out of town. weeks turned to months and still nothing. About 3 month later i decided to go pick it up they said the had found the issue but didn't repair it. Horrible experience and very little communication on the status of my equipment.

2025 Review - The store seems to have lost it small town charm. It now looks very much like a standard big box stores. Prices seem generally higher that the big box stores. I'm increasingly ordering hardware online to save money. Customer service also seems to have fallen. I'm generally disappointed when I enter the store and as a result I look for other sources to make my purchases.

2022 Review-Generally pretty good. Look for the old guys with gray hair. The older staff really knows what's going on. The young kids are more engaged with their cell phones. The music is always incredibly loud which makes it really hard to concentrate when you're trying to figure out what you need to put together. I always end up forgetting things because the music is so darn loud and annoying.

Updated Review October 2024: They have updated this store, taken the cute decorations and all the personality mostly away, made the shelves so high and so close together it is claustrophobia city. They took our cute small city Ace Hardware and made it just another box store that charges too much. Previously I didn't mind paying more to support this store but now I am disappointed everytime I come in here and can't stand going down the aisles that are too high. I'm giving it 2 stars, not one because when you can find staff they are nice and helpful however, my observation is since their update they are way less staffed then before so good luck finding staff to help. I now either order online or go to another city for my needs.

Original review 2022: I just love this store. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to help. It has become my go-to for anything home, yard or motorhome remodel. Great little Dixon gem.
