A great old park. Big trees, play areas, BBQ stuff. Car shows, community gatherings. In elementary school we always stopped here and had cold lunch, then on to chico.

We came when it was completely empty. Looks nice and clean tons of places to sit. Playground is fenced in 3 quarters of the way. Feels nice and safe. Completely shaded, so really nice and cool.

We've used the picnic areas of Durham Park for family events a couple of times. It's great to have a covered area with a lot of tables for use. Although the covered area can be reserved, so check ahead before you plan. We found a single table by some tall trees that provided some shade which was nice on a hot day. The playground equipment needs to be updated for safety as far as small children go. There were no steps for adults to use in order to accompany a small child & the slide was too tall for a toddler to use.
The park itself is nicely maintained, however, the bathrooms could use some updating as well. Everything seems pretty old & worn out.
Hopefully, the parks & rec there will get some funding for needed improvements. The main concern is the playground equipment.
I would recommend this park as far as there being plenty of nice space for large groups to gather.

It's a beautiful park with a large covered area, playground, and several restrooms not too far from Chico.
