Bill the owner has a firm handshake and is a pleasure to talk to! You can rest easy when you arrive at this shop because he has what you need! Even if you don't require anything on your trip it's great to just browse the variety of goods and services this shop has to offer!

The owner, "Bill" is a gem of local expert: Clear, helpful, friendly info on local lake fishing and technique. I highly recommend discussing things with him. The shop is also SUPER well stocked and current. There is an older female working @ the shop who was snarky, short, unhelpful the first day we went in.. Definitely needs some customer-relations training. I recommend if looking to get info .. Head straight for Bill. (Hopefully, the female was just having a one-off day.)

We stop by here every year to buy the Sno-Park Permit. It's only $5, and very convenient. It's valid for all the Snow-Park on the way up .

Stopped by based on reviews. Bill (owner) was there to help and talk trout. He was very helpful and recommended some fishing spots and flies. Took them out the next day and landed a trout in a few casts based on his recommendations. Would definitely recommend his business.

My family and I have stopped by a few times. They are very kind and easy to work with. Bill goes out of his way to help you. I planned on learning fly fishing and decided to drive from Tracy to Arnold just to purchase it from him. Way worth the drive. Ended up with two sets of fly kits and he set it all up for us and showed us how to use them. Amazing customer service. Highly recommend going.

One of the BEST fishing shops in the central Sierra. Also a great value on quality rental ski gear if you head up in winter. Bill (the owner) is a great guy - good with the kids and super knowledgeable about where to drop in a line. On his bait recommendation I landed 4 solid trout at Lake Alpine. Literally had a bite in less than 10 mins. Kids loved it!

The world needs more people like Bill, made our family feel welcome in Arnold. Was very helpful, wife got some beanies, boots and cozy socks. Next time we visit we will get some fishing advice and try for some bass! ?

Privately owned and operated business for forty years. Have bought boots here twice in the last 15 years. Best quality and reasonable prices. Would recommend visiting if you're serious about outdoor gear. Great shopping environment and service. Owner is musician and of highest integrity.
