It seems like this store is always halfway between where we live and where we're going. Even though it's often different places that we're headed out to. I don't know how that works. Just seems to be true.
Anyway, as a halfway point, it's a good place to relieve one's person of all of that hydrating you've been doing on the way. They have outdoor johns, porta potties, whatever you want to call them. And again, this is kind of generally our halfway point, we've been there frequently. They've always been clean. The toilets are always clean.

The store has kind of everything. Except for fountain drinks. They don't have fountain drinks. You cannot get a cup of ice.

You can get a bag of ice, you cannot get a cup of ice.

But they have everything else. Kind of like a proper general store, they have a small amount of all of the things. You will not be spoiled for choice in brand but you will very likely find everything that you need.

Except a cup of ice. Sadly, there are no cups of ice at this store.

On balance, I'll take a clean toilet and no cup of ice over a gnarly toilet and ice on demand.
Still, ice would be nice.
I'll cope.

Kodiak Diaries

What a gem! Although you'll experience mountain/tourist prices, the experience is unmatched. They have a cute selection of clothing, I picked up a t-shirt. They have your basic food and pantry staples. A small selection of fresh fruits and vegetables was a welcome surprise. And they carry my favorite Big Blue Van adult beverage. ? We had our propane filled, that was convenient! All locals have been absolutely welcoming and helpful, the experience here was no different. Forest Lakes is terrific and I recommend checking it out.

I had an amazing experience with the team at Forest Lakes General Store. Not only were they very pleasant and down to earth to work with, I had an issue a couple of weeks later with an unintended discrepancy with a charge that had been made, and not only did Brad remember me 2 weeks later, but did everything he could to correct the misunderstanding and refund the difference. I wasn't expecting such concern for my situation, since I had signed the credit card purchase, and they could have just said "sorry." But, they are obviously run by a value of integrity. So rare to find these days. Thank you Brad and his wife and the team at Forest Lakes General Store.
Will definitely be returning when I'm in the area.

Everything in the store looked like it came from the 70's all the candy bars had an inch of dust on them and the meat looked super old! The only thing we could buy there was the eggs,liquor and sodas. I get that it was a small town mountain store but come on!!!

Great little store. The employees were very friendly and asked how long we were staying in town. The store had more products than you might think. I’ll bet they have what you need.

It's a decent place if you need to get something quick rather than driving to Heber or Payson. Prices are to be expected.

Friendly staff even though they were super busy the cashier still made time to chat with me and make small talk. Decent selection of all the necessities for being outdoors.
