Fortuna is a very unfriendly town to anyone not a local. 35 years and I still find it to be. I'm a plumber and asked....being conscious of others....if I could wash my hands. The look and response of no......just not friendly...rude. Also they really don't care about others.
I was nice and did tell the clerk to sanitize the areas I went to because I was rootering prior to coming in
AVOID FORTUNA IF YOU CAN.

I enjoy shopping at the Ace hardware stores. Enjoy the plants and flowers, nice selection. Fortuna has an excellent fire arms department with very knowledgeable employees. Holiday crafts and decorations are really good. They are a bit pricy, but, very clean and organized. Very helpful.

Update: My sister has reached out to Ace Hardware in fortuna and let them know what happened. The owner has since been into the store and failed to call back. We are hoping a resolution will be met. At this moment it does feel like the owner is avoiding the problem at hand.

If I could give 0 stars to Fortuna Ace Hardware I would. My sister went to purchase paint, in Fortuna, for her daughter that is due in a couple of months. She drove 45 minutes and when she came to my house we found this surprise. Her 2 year old suv had an ENTIRE gallon of paint spill inside. Now the asphalt in my driveway even has pink paint all over it. I liked this store but now I will choose to support other businesses if I can.

This store needs a training on customer service. The last few times I have come in specifically to the garden department, I have not been greeted by staff or asked if I was looking for something which I was. They were too busy in a group of four with personal conversations and didn't even allow me and my husband to bypass them when we tried to scoot by when we said excuse us. We live in a rural community with not many options, the teenagers need to be reeled in. We try to support local but not when staff are rude. Everything can be delivered quickly from Amazon and typically for half the price.
