Wonderful experience! I wish I had had more time to talk to George -- he seems like such an interesting person. I cannot fathom the very few poor reviews I see in here -- which seem to be directed toward bad experiences with George. Perhaps a few folks don't understand his humor? Or perhaps they may be the sorts of folks who have bad experiences with lots of folks.... but I cannot believe this kind, gentle man was rude to anyone. In any case, personalities aside, his pottery is unique in its form and appearance. Intriguing features that border on a mix between whimsy and and artful expression of the artist's soul. His pieces feel very organic and "earthy" to me, which melds perfectly with the nature sanctuary within which his studio is nestled. I wanted soooo many of his pieces, but finally settled on one bowl in particular that kept calling me back over to admire it's soft green glaze and stunning form. Note: George accepts only cash or check as payment (luckily the convenience store right down the road has an ATM). I'll definitely be back, and I can't wait to share this treasure with my friends!

I would give him a zero really. I went into his place of biz and said politely and quietly hello. I guess I startled him. Thinking announcing my presence would be better then him just looking up. He charged out the door cussing and screaming at me. Jeez I just wanted to by a gift for a friend. Maybe his sign should have said on the road. "I am a grumpy old man don't bother me. Yikes the old dude had me in tears.

Cute and charming. I really appreciate that George is supportive of nature on his property. He is very sweet to talk to and I am glad I could purchase some of his pieces! I especially loved the handwritten quotes taped around his gallery. I might have to drive back from Jacksonville just to buy the dish that matches the pieces I bought!

George's pottery is unique and functional. We needed new coffee mugs and found them here. I also got a bowl - not that I needed another one but it was too beautiful to leave! George is an artist and craftsman. Spend a little time visiting and you'll find he has a great sense of humor and a creative, sensitive and loving soul!

I had pottery made by George over 20 years ago, my Grandmother bought it for me as a graduation gift. I love it, it is as beautiful now as it was then. I remember George well and I hope to get back there soon. Such amazing art work!!

I had passed by the sign many times over the years on my way to/from Tallahassee to Saint George from Atlanta. Yesterday I stopped in - very glad I did. George was warm and engaging. We talked about his art (he blends his own clays and glazes, uses a wood fired kiln) And his love of local flora and fauna. I purchased a beautiful platter for our anniversary next month as a surprise for my wife - she will be elated. Take time to stop in and say hello in there!

I'm so glad that we stumbled upon this hidden gem of a place! George and his two dogs were so welcoming; they even gave us a tour of his pottery studio and kiln. His pottery is so unique and earthy and his prices are reasonable. Even if you don't buy anything (which you probably will!), go talk to George, see his artwork, read all the inspiring quotes on the walls, and be out in the beautiful nature surrounding his studio. I hope to return again soon!
