Yes it isn’t Lowes… saying that I will point out that in the four years of living in the area I have never been treated rudely here. They try to stock what most folks need here and by need I also mean what the majority of locals are willing or able to afford.
I have seen how some men harass the women at the register with very inappropriate innuendo. So if anyone feels the ladies are being rude I would offer they are trying to be professional and safe from unwanted attention.
As a man I have been embarrassed by the kinds of things that I have heard some of the male customers say to the much younger cashiers.
But back to the prices and availability of items. Considering this is an independent distributor of lumber and hardware with a fairly small population of 6,000 in Mena plus another 6,000 or so in the neighboring rural areas I would give them credit for having most of what is needed at reasonable prices.
Expecting more? Then perhaps Mena is not the right place for you.

Handy Hardware rarely disapoints. Always friendly and very customer oriented. Today had part of what I needed and ordered the rest by phone to be in later this week. Much better service than having to drive 80 miles to pay more for the same items

Great selection of materials and consumables.
So far they have had anything I have gone in looking for. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Prices are a bit above department stores but not much.

It's a convenient location and they tend to have decent stock. Why some of the staff are consistently rude is beyond me. Last time I was in two of the men were annoyed to have to help me in front of my young children.

What a great small town privately owned business. Everyone from cashiers, to the loaders, to the folks helping inside the store. Love spending my money here rather than a big chain store. 2 thumbs up
