Last night a large tree fell blocking the 10049 Block of Weeks drive. We contacted the county about 9am to report it. In about an hour a crew arrived with 2 dump trucks and heavy claw machine operated by Mr Kevin Carr. Mr. Carr expertly removed the tree from the roadway. It was like watching a surgeon. The crew removed debris and concluded about 5 hours later. Mr. Carr was careful not to cause damage to any surrounding property. He should be commended for his fine work.

Brand new road on Skyview Circle didn’t do it right now washed out came home today to my mailbox laying on the ground it has washed out so deep!!! Total incompetence from management sending this to newspapers and county reps!!! WTH Why pay taxes this is an existing problem that has never been fixed correctly from day one and the head honcho at maintenance is so friendly and accommodating yea right total personality minus if anyone has ever had the pleasure of speaking with him…. Just do ur job buddy!!! Milking it much!

Huge thank you to Troy Fulford (sp?) and Kelly in HC Dept of Public Works whom I just called 2 days ago re 4 dangerous areas I notice daily while bicycling in Hernando Beach. 2 of the four areas on the sidewalk were fixed (trees trimmed near Matolis & awful potholes etc near Sterling Marina) the NEXT DAY! Hopefully the other 2 will be fixed quickly too. Ty!

Someone had placed a large pile of tree debris on the right of way of an empty lot on our street. I called Public Works to see if they could remove it. The receptionist was polite and professional taking the information. The debris was gone in two days. I am extremely happy with their response. Thank you for cleaning up the mess someone else created.

5 stars not enough stars.....This is a very awesome review for the light foreman and the people that is in the electric or light pole department. They did a very wonderful job! Very polite! Very communicative! Very professional! I'm very thankful of them all in that department including the guys that installed the LEDs on the light pole located on my property! Need more of people like each of them. They take pride in their work!!!!!! Take pride in delivering service requested!!! Thank you very much!!!! I'm very pleased with them and grateful!!!

As for storm water run off severe flooding issues..... with those people in that department they sent out another guy because I placed another work order from the last experience and was denied, so he came out to make his assessment to look at the drains with me which he did. He was polite and professional. We looked into the drains didn't see anything however there are holes inside the drains that he's going to take a look to make sure there's nothing inside the holes that could be blocking water flow by using a special camera. That's great I'm glad he's going to do that. If there's nothing inside blocking then he says he will put in a work order for engineering to come out. If there's blockage then he'll have the vacuum truck come out to take care of it. Thank you very much!

The engineer came out took a look, had a pleasant experience with both gentlemen they both worked together to inspect what could be seen with the naked eye and will look into it a little further. Thank you very much!!!

As for the tree cutting from the power lines that crew did a very nice job!! Things looks so much better and now taller vehicles can ride thru nicely. Thanks guys!!!Plus I want to add that Justin put in a work order for me as well about this issue because he saw the concern himself that's really cool!!

I'm very happy and pleased with is the electrical part of it. The foreman and the light pole.... and management that has everything to do with the light poles and that department. They are great people and you can tell they love their job and they treat people with respect. I'm glad to have those people working for us. I have no complaints for them. They are all awesome. I couldn't ask for anything better or anyone better.

Ive gotta say it's great to see people that love their job enough to facilitate customers concerns and insure understanding! I'm very happy with all the people that work for our departments for the county!!! Thank you ladies and gentlemen of our county for doing a great job and responding to me!!

I would like to update a review I made about the Road Maintenance Department 2 years ago. Since that review, I've submitted 4 or 5 requests for road maintenance for Taft St and the adjoining Jayson Dr. Each and every time, someone has called within a week to let me know that they inspected the roads and assured me the roads would be repaired. I wish I had gotten the man's name. He was courteous and respectful, AND, within another week or two, the roads were re-graded enough to make them safe to drive on. I would still like to see Taft St paved--it connects to Sunshine Grove Road and other similar roads connecting to Sunshine have already been paved. I submit my request ONLINE and not over the phone.

Clerks were pleasant enough when I called to report that our dirt road is washed out--that was 2 weeks ago. Heavy rains has made the road even more impassable. Paying $3400+/year in property taxes, I would like to be able to get out of my driveway without damaging the axles on my vehicle. Newspaper carrier, mail carrier, garbage trucks--all are having trouble on Taft Street. No excuse. If they won't pave the road, then for the taxes we pay, we expect at least a passable dirt road to travel on.
