Donna in the front office was so wonderful… I ask her for a quiet room so I could rest. I was so happy to get a room that smelled nice when I walked in was so clean, large and and comfortable. With a Keurig that I could make my dark roast pods they have medium roast, microwave, and refrigerator for Comfort and then to wake up in the morning and have their breakfast available at 5:30 in the morning and so nicely done with eggs, turkey, bacon, bacon, fresh baked, cinnamon rolls, fresh made pancakes, oatmeal, fresh juices, and coffee, machines that ground your coffee, I was really impressed. I don’t usually stay in Bishop… This day was perfect for me. I’m going to have fun looking at some thrift shops this morning and then tomorrow go for some skiing At one of my favorite mountains… Mammoth!

Stayed here while our house was getting redone. Wayfinder is much nicer and only 2-3 dollars more. Not sure why this place is so expensive but it’s not worth it. Stained sheets, dirty carpets, minimal customer service. Breakfast is okay. We ended up leaving early and going to a hotel half the price with higher quality. The rooms are nice but not even close to 2-3 stars for the lack of cleanliness and things that don’t work in the rooms. Not worth $200 a night.

We had a reservation scheduled for 12/27/24. Our flight on 12/26 was delayed due to bad weather. This caused other delays and missed appointments and we had to reschedule things for 12/27. We had no intention of canceling the reservation but the weather delay changed all that. We called the hotel on 12/26 to advise them of our situation and requested the cancellation. We told the manager what happened and she said she would look into it and let us know. Within 10 minutes of our phone conversation, she sent us an email and told us “since the plane was only delayed for 1 hour and 25 minutes, she would not waive the cancellation penalty” and charged us the cancellation fee (which was the full room amount). We contacted her again reiterating our situation and requested her to reconsider the cancellation penalty. She responded with “their hotel has a 48hr cancellation policy, not a 24hr cancellation and would be sticking to the terms agreed to at the time of booking .” We would have no problem with that if there weren’t things beyond our control. We know hotels have the flexibility to waive cancellation penalties for extentuaing circumstances. They do it all the time. Unfortunately for us, she chose not to do that. To her, we did not cancel the reservation per their 48hr policy and were charged the cancellation fee. This loyal IHG card member WILL NOT be recommending this hotel to others.

I have four issues with this hotel. 1) They charge an extra fee, so be careful before you book online. They used to call it a resort fee, now it's a hotel fee. Sorry, I don't pay extra hidden fees unless I am at a top-notch resort and I actually get something above and beyond a standard hotel. Stop hiding B.S. fees, and maybe you will get more business. 2) If you stay on the bottom floor, be careful; the back windows are often unlocked and you can see evidence of people coming and going through the windows by the damage on the screens. 3) Parking can be tough if you have a larger vehicle. Often you have a million LA Water & Power trucks, fire trucks, or contractor trucks in the lot. 4) If you rely on an elevator, be advised it is not located in the center of the hotel. It is located near the back of the hotel, and it is a long walk with heavy items. The staff is fine, and the hotel is in the center of the downtown area.

The room is spacious and the bed is very comfortable. The real improvement needed is shower pressure. You MUST use the massaging chair in the fitness room before bed - OMG! That is worth the price of the stay.

Loved the town of Bishop. It was the perfect location for my work related trip. Although Bishop is a small town it had a lot to offer plus the area was very scenic.

The only issue with this experience was the early morning front desk staff. She seemed to be a one person show as she waited the front desk, served breakfast and was doing the laundry all at the same time. That may explain her cold demeaner. Breakfast was not ready at the predesignated hour, she was folding towels, so I was made to wait for my receipt for check-out. I ate breakfast elsewhere.

We have been staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Bishop now for years as an overnight rest stop to acclimate before moving on to Mammoth Lakes with its higher elevation. I appreciate being able to stay with our dog. The staff is always friendly, professional, and responsive. Despite being located on Main Street, the Bishop Holiday Inn Express is very quiet at night. I enjoying being able to walk along Bishop Creek and see the giant cottonwood trees in the Bishop City Park. Bishop is a delight itself. It is a great base for exploring the high alpine lakes and peaks to the west.

The stay was spoilt by the poor breakfast service.

There was no butter provided for the bread.

The cooked breakfast was poor. The scrambled eggs were burnt and dry and not very warm. To be honest it looked like the previous days scrambled eggs had been served up again.

The sausages were also shriveled up.

There was no staff working in the breakfast area to raise these issues to.

I have stayed at this particular IHG before and this was definitely not the usual level of service.
