Purchased a 5.0 from Ideal a few weeks ago and I must say the service and technicians at this dealership are absolutely fantastic. The paperwork was simple but thorough, registration is taken care of and included in the price, and they're willing to work through the day to ensure you have a smooth and quick experience. The repair and modification quality of the car is astounding and there have been no mechanical or cosmetic problems so far. If you're looking to get a great deal from a trustworthy restoration shop with friendly service, Ideal Auto is the place to go! I would recommend any of my friends to get a vehicle from here.

I attempted to contact this dealership multiple times via email and phone regarding the Mustang Bullitt I was interested in purchasing. Unfortunately, my efforts were repeatedly ignored. On one occasion, a lady finally answered the phone. I inquired about the car and asked if the price was negotiable. She curtly said “no” and hung up on me. This behavior was extremely unprofessional. The car has been sitting on their lot for nearly a year at the same price, despite being a rebuild and not even in pristine condition. It seems they are unwilling to adjust their prices or provide decent customer service. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I was referred to Fred at Ideal Autosales over 2 yrs ago. My friend had just bought a 2016 Ford Explorer that looked brand new, but I couldn't believe the low price he paid for it. Then he told me it was a salvaged title vehicles and I immediately dismissed it because I would never buy salvaged title. Then he told me all about Fred and Ideal Autosales and how he had been referred by another friend, and how he had done a lot of research on Fred and checked out all the reviews. He told me that Fred is very honest and only buys salvaged cars with no frame or suspension damage, only the best vehicles. I really trust my friend, so I decided to check Fred out. Here are the results:

1st CAR: 2012 Ford Raptor purchased in Oct 2018 w/69,000 miles. Prior to purchase I had the Ford Dealership do a complete Pre-Purchase Inspection with specific focus on the frame and suspension. The truck passed with zero issues, the mechanic who did the inspection said he could not believe it was a salvage title, everything looked straight as an arrow. In other words, everything Fred told me about the truck was true, so I bought the truck. The truck now has over 91,000 miles (so I've put 22,000 miles on it so far) and I have had no issues, still looks and runs fantastic.

2nd CAR: 2017 GMC Terrain Denalit purchase in Nov 2018 w/13,000 miles. About a month and half later my son's old car broke down, so I helped him buy a new one. Price was an issue so I went to Fred. We bought a 2017 GMC Terrain Denali. My son drives a lot, so he now has over 44,800 miles on it (so he's put over 31,000 miles so far) with no issues and the Denali still looks and runs like new.

3rd CAR: 2018 Ford Explorer XLT purchased in Apr 2019 w/4,000 miles. Yes, this is correct, I've bought 3 cars from Fred. We needed to replace my wife's aging Mazda 3. After a LOT of new car shopping trying to decide what make and model she wanted we finally decided on a Ford Explorer. We didn't want to pay the new car price, so I called up Fred and told him what we were looking for. He didn't have one on the lot, but said that 2 of them would be coming in soon. He described both cars to me, I told him the one I was interested in and about a month later Fred called me up and told me he had a car ready. My wife and I went that day, drove the car and bought it that day. The Explorer now has over 19,000 miles, so we've put over 15,000 miles since purchase and we've had no issues. The car still looks and drives like new.

The take away here is that I would never buy a salvage title vehicle unless it's from Fred at Ideal Autosales. The reasons are because I trust Fred, and because when an auto wholesaler or dealership decides to buy and fix a salvaged title vehicle, they really have to know what they are doing, which cars to buy and which ones to stay away from. They have to be experts at damage assessment, and since Fred's business started out as a body shop, they have that expertise. Now I'm not saying these cars are absolutely perfect, as if you just drove them off of the showroom floor. They are used vehicles that have been in an accident. I'm just saying that the 3 vehicles I purchased look pretty close to perfect and unless you look extremely close it's very difficult to find a small scratch here or there. Both my Raptor and Explorer I take to my local Ford Dealership for all scheduled maintenance, oil changes/tire rotations, and they have said more that once, "We can't believe it's a salvaged vechicle!" My son lives out of state and has had a similar experience with his Denali. I fully recommend Fred and Ideal Autosales for all used car purchases.
