I’ve always enjoyed shopping at IKEA, but my recent experiences at the Palo Alto location have been disappointing due to serious health code violations that management refuses to address.

On two separate visits, I witnessed customers placing their dogs inside shopping carts (unleashed both times) and carting them around the store—including in the dining area where food is served.

When I brought this to the attention of store management on both occasions, had detailed conversations with them about how these are, by definition of their status in the carts, NOT service dogs.

They dismissed my concerns, claiming they wouldn't take action. However, what I witnessed and documented directly violates California Health and Safety Code Section 114259.5, which prohibits live animals in food establishments, except for service animals.

Since management refused to intervene, I have reported this issue to the Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health and provided photographic evidence of both instances. I sincerely hope IKEA takes this matter seriously and enforces basic health and safety standards for the well-being of all customers.

Until this issue is addressed, I would not recommend dining here or using their carts without sanitizing them thoroughly. IKEA needs to do better.

Wide selections of decor and furniture to shop, same as other IKEA locations. Though the cafeteria seems to be smaller than other locations and serving were slow that we waited for awhile for ordering and payment.

Other than the price tag are high considering the quality of the furniture you get is the reason for 4 stars.

It is huge facility that you can walking and browsing a couple hours to get idea for every room of your house!

From kids room to bathroom to kitchen to even garage or window dressing!

They even have a restaurant that serves Danish food which smells so good that I was almost stop to get a bowl of soup to eat! Maybe next time!

This review is specifically for this rude and snarky representative. Had the audacity to get a fancy smart mouth after not being able to thoroughly explain the, "California Law", that permits IKEA to apply a $21 recycling fee for a mattress. The issue isn't the so-called law, it's this person thinking they can get an attitude when a refund was requested. You don't get to talk snarky because you lacked the full understanding. You're RUDE and could use more training. DO BETTER LADY!!

Love IKEA! You can find anything home related in this super store. I mean, any furniture from living room, playroom, office to bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and outdoor areas.

It’s a typical IKEA store which consists of 2 levels, the upper for showroom and the lower is where the goods are. Their showroom is impeccable as always. We can stay all days in here! And, there’s furniture is simple yet stylish. It’s affordable and of great quality, too.

This Ikea has one of the worst services qualities in the US. When items come with missing pieces, they make you wait for over an hour and refuse to resolve the issues and asking people to connect online help. Absolutely not recommended

The return process is so terrible. Expect it to take 60-90 minutes because they understaff and force you to use a terrible app. There is no need for the process to be so terrible, every other retailer has figured this out. Exacerbated by the lack of cell reception in the store. No lines for checkout or pickup. Most of the people are in the store waiting for a return because of how bad the process is. Once you sign up for a return, they will estimate an up to two hour wait. There is no way to know your place in line. The actual return takes 30 seconds once you get to a customer service representative. The fault is entirely with their bad queueing process...
