Bought my mountain bike at this local bike store and the service was phenomenal. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. They got my bike ready in just a few minutes. One of the positive outcomes in buying at a shop instead of online is that they offered personalized care and free 30,60,90 days and 1 year complimentary tune ups as well as 10% off any accessories within the next 90 days after my bike purchase. I totally recommend them.

When i dropped off the bike the staff were nice and courteous. We had a small conversation on the type of bike I brought in and I felt I made the right decision leaving it there due to they're knowledge and friendly approach. Unfortunately when I went to pick up the bike it was a whole different story. I had mentioned to the gentleman I dropped off the bike with, that I was trying to keep the cost low due to the use the bike will be getting and we had agreed to a price of 150 for service and repairs which at that point I thought it was high but decided to trust the guys there since my knowledge on bikes and parts is not vast. I also felt that they were genuine and seem to be cool people. But when I picked up the bike the price had now changed to 200. So now I'm at a point where I'm paying double of what I paid for the bike to service it, to only use it once in a while. There was never a call letting me know that there would be a price change or any type of courtesy on their behalf. When I express this issue to them they pretty much gave me the "who gives a shit about what you're saying" speech. The guy mentioned how he had to do this and that in order to get to that price point expecting me to rationalized all this bike service knowledge just so he can charge me more. At no point they considered that some people may just not have the extra money to spend. This bike was a random gift I was going to give my wife since she's always wanted a similar bike to this one. I live paycheck to paycheck and sacrificed money I didn't have to just make my lady smile. I got off of work early to bring it and to pick it up and I know that's not their fault I took off early but between time taken off and repairs this bike has cost me just the same as to get a new one. Both of the guys that were there were really condescending and couldn't even comprehend the fact that being a different price then initially quoted would be an issue. When I mentioned to them that I even got off of work early to make it before they close one of them said "we'll make sure we change our hours for you too" what kind of customer service is that? No apologies for changing their prices or discounts we're offered to repair the situation. I asked them "at this point what choice do I have?" They said nothing and just kinda smirked. I would not recommend this place, I have read other bad reviews and it seems to be that there's a common theme of them trying to turn around their mistakes on the customer. I hope they're happy they robbed me of my hard earned money. Even if is not a lot of money....I work very hard for it.

Update:

After I paid 200 dollars for servicing the bike I went home and they didn't even put air on the tires or cleaned any part of the bike like they said they would. So after being "serviced" I still had to go and air up the tires and clean the bike, this place is just awful.

After dealing with JC'S Bikes and Boards for more than 2 years, I still highly recommend them.
Now in our seventies, my husband is no longer able to do the maintenance on his bike, or our tandem bike. Since I'm not into golf, and he's
not into photography, riding our tandem is one activity we enjoy doing together. However, I don't want to worry about getting stuck miles from home with a disabled bike. Both of our bikes were in sad shape, so I decided we needed to replace both with better quality bicycles. Preferably from someplace who could do the maintenance for us and keep us on the road. We found that at JC'S. The tandem they ordered for us, is perfect. It is more comfortable to ride and well worth the investment. Plus we haven't had all the issues we had with both of our previous cheaper bicycles. Ryan is our go to guy, however all of the guys there are very friendly and helpful. So rest assured you will be in capable hands at JC'S Bikes and Boards:)

Absolutely fantastic experience at JC’s Bikes & Boards LLC! After shopping around at several stores, my wife and I finally found the perfect e-bike here. The quality of their bikes is top-notch, and we could immediately tell they offer some of the best options available. What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of our questions, ensuring we made the right choice. We really appreciated their attention to detail and customer service. My husband took our son's scooter tire/wheel in for repair. The guys were helpful when he brought in the wheel and tire with a pinched inner tube and told him they would order everything needed and put it on the rim for him.
We went to pick the wheel/tire up today (6/11/24) and they did put the new tube and tire on the rim, however, at some point while the wheel was in their care, it was damaged. The speed sensor is damaged and looks as if something fell on it or like someone sat something on top of it.
My husband confronted them asking what happened because he dropped it off and knows what condition it was in, and both guys that were working attempted to turn it around on our son and my husband and saying that they need to be careful.
We know that mistakes can happen and I wouldn't have written this review if they had just owned up to the mistake. They chose to blame my husband and/or son. They were quick to brush the whole conversation off and deny any type of allegations.
Now we also have to find, order and replace that part as well.

Purchased my first non-big box retailer bike from JC's and it was a fantastic experience. They ordered the appropriate size and help modify the seat post. Accessories are well priced. Overall, great pricing!!! They have entry level bikes around $500-$700, which is what I got, all the way to very PRO style bikes. Great selection and inventory.

9000 plus miles on my bike . I have visited ) bike shops Coast to Coast. Hands down they are the friendliest bike mechanics and Sales people I have encountered. Their inventory is incredible. The bicycling community of DeLand is very fortunate to have such an outstanding Bike Shop in their town. They have a workstation out front and also a easy up for shade. Or in my case Shelter From A unbelievable thundershower. If you need it they got it in stock as my pictures show. When I first walked in my first words were WOW.
