I had a wonderful experience with this permit department. I had a simple permit and Glenishia was an absolute pleasure to work with. She got my documents done quickly and efficiently and it was always done with a smile. While it was time-consuming to do the permit process face to face, it helps when you have pleasant employees like Glenishia.
To the Lauderdale Lakes Building Officials - hurry up and implement a digital system where we can submit permits online. It's 2024 and you guys are behind time. Also, implement a proper phone answering service. I waited 52 minutes and hung up. It's obvious they can't answer the phone when they have to service everyone at the counter.
Give your permit tech Glenishia a raise, she deserves it and that's the only reason you got 5 stars.

Me: Ok, let me just go in to the building.

Go ahead and give them a call and see if I’m lying.

Almost two months to get a roof permit. So unprofessional. Bad customer service. Contractors are not pleased with the services.

I was calling to get permit information regarding the roof and the permit clerk or whoever was at the desk is really rude. If you do not have public records available online for your residents the least you can do is be humble and nice to whomever is on the phone.

I am a home inspector for 7 years, trying to get the date of the last roof permit for the last 4 business days, I leave a message with my phone number, address I am searching and tell them I want the date for the last roof permit. NEVER call me back.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY MAKE YOU WAIT FOR OVER AN HOUR TO LATER HANG UP ON YOU OR WAIT UNTIL THEY ARE CLOSED AND THE PHONE HANGS UP ON YOU. THEY TELL YOU TO HOLD AND NEVER COME BACK TO THE LINE. THEY ARE ABSOLUTLY NO HELP!
