This was my first time coming into this hallmark store looking for a gift for my friends birthday. I'm holding a pair of earrings and a dangly item. As I'm showing my friend what I found the older employee asks if she can hold the items in my hand up at the register for me while I shop around. Even tho my friend and other patrons are holding items she's not asking to carry at the front. I have worked in retail for a long time, that's a tactic to prevent theft. They even have baskets for shoppers but won't allow me to carry about 30 dollars worth of merchandise? Not sure what would make me seem like a thief besides being the only person of color in the store at the time. Also as the other younger associate is ringing up my friend and I'm waiting to be rung up, the same older associate helps another man behind me in line first. Feels very targeted, especially considering there are other reviews from other women of color saying the same thing. Pathetic.

I searched for sympathy cards, the clerk was friendly and walked me to the section and told me not to hesitate if I needed more assistance. This was excellent because I was rushing to shop and get to my destination! I'm very pleased with her patience and professionalism.

This Hallmark store is now under new ownership as of mid-2022. The entire store was retrofitted and now carries a variety of new products. Great selection and service. Family owned small business.

I have not been in a Hallmark store in years. It was great to have such a great collection of cards! The staff were so nice. Greeted me when I walked in which was a very nice welcome!

Love the items in this store but unless you have a rare coupon, expect to pay a pretty penny for any item in this store. Unfortunately Hallmarks are becoming a rarity thus why they price high. Sometimes the associates are friendly annnnnd sometimes NOT. Good luck finding something for your budget.

I'm sad that Merle's is closing, but happy that the owners get the chance to enjoy retirement. I have fond memories of shopping for hours here with my mom for family greeting cards since I was a kid. I'll always remember the scent of this store and the lovely cards and ornaments they had in stock. The miniature Christmas set displays in the windows never disappointed too.

When you walk into the store, the floor is very hard and it’s quite boring inside. There is no music and no greetings from the employees. The boss is rude to the women that work for him and customers that come inside the store. When I saw a view of their back room, I was taken back. It’s hazardous to the employees who must try to find items all inside boxes that are stacked on top of one another. I would recommend shopping at a different location or getting gifting items elsewhere.
