Review of Mei’s Supermarket

I’ve been to Mei’s Supermarket before, but this is my first time reviewing it. They have a great selection of interesting items, from snacks to unique grocery finds. One time, I even found the Dalgona cookie from Squid Game here! The store is well-stocked, and if you’re into exploring different foods, it’s definitely worth a visit. Whether you’re looking for everyday essentials or something new to try, Mei’s has a little bit of everything.

The bakery 🍞 inside is delicious and reasonably priced. Inside this supermarket there is also a good food section during lunch time, and the food is very tasty as well! For about $6 you can get yourself a loaded to-go box with rice, two meats, and a vegetable item and soup 🍲! The market is large with lots of Asian goods worth variety. It's a go to spot for sure 🫶🏼

Didn’t like that seafood market person didn’t use gloves while moving from different products such as gutting a raw fish then grabbing raw shrimp. After asking if they use gloves, the guy did put on a single glove and wash his hands to continue to get our items, but it seemed like an inconvenience to him. Store does have a good selection of prepackaged snacks and pastries and not overly crowded.

I was visiting the area and needed to pick up some ingredients for a few different Asian dishes. I was so happy to find this store – they had a great selection of Vietnamese seasonings and sauces, but also a good mix of Thai, Chinese, and even some Korean items. It was exactly what I needed! Plus, I really appreciated that the store wasn't cramped like some others I've been to. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for Asian ingredients!

Excellent variety of items to select from. From fresh produce, meats, and fish to freeze dried items. Instant soups to herbs and spices. They have cookware and food storage containers as well.
You can also purchase to take home or eat there a precooked meal, dim sum, and bakery items. Everything we have tried is absolutely delicious leaves you looking forward to next shopping adventure!

This market has improved from a three stars to a four stars from me.

Pros:
1. The limited selection of Asian greens are fresh
2. There’s an adequate selection of common dried goods
3. The bakery is the highlight and the main reason why I would come to this market. They make one of the best Hong Kong style egg tarts in town. It’s a must try. I love anything durian they make at the bakery.
4. The last time I came I noticed the fruits were all fresh for the first time.

5. I was delighted to see the improvements and spent over $100 in grocery there for the first time and was able to gather all the items on my grocery list.

Neutral:
Fish and meat selections are okay. Freshness and selections are always a hit or miss for my experiences.

Cons:
1. The limited fruit selections aren’t fresh compared to the big Asian markets and it’s the main reason I don’t come
2. Fruits are overpriced compared to other markets and especially even when the fruits are over ripe or starting to rot sometimes.
3. Floor always look dirty at the front of the store where cashiers and bakery are.

Overall, I had come here for the delicious baked goods at their bakery once in a while. Hopefully this market will keep up with their improvements since the last time was the first time I was able to find all my items on my grocery list and was satisfy with the fresh fruits and vegetables selection for the first time.

I enjoy the selection of bakery items they have here, however, the store is incredibly dirty. The roof is moldy, and the freezers don't look like they've been cleaned in ages.

My favorite place to buy Asian products, everything is super organized and the staff is friendly. Very good prices and variety of products.

Plus: there is always parking available, unlike in other places where it is super difficult to find a spot.
