If they could network all of their systems that would be tremendously helpful to the public. To have to visit multiple windows regarding property taxes only to be told one terminal can't see if a payment was made while another can't see what you owe and a 3rd can only accept payment is ludicrous. Pro Tip: At the Information window request two number tickets: one to see the payment window and another to dispute whether you paid or not. Whichever is called first (and it most likely won't be the Q ticket) you handle that business. Bring all proof of payments, circling the deposit date of each payment. Check your attitude at the door: they truly don't care about your problem, that's not what civil servants are there to do. Don't worry, the AI is coming to speed the process up. Finally, no, they did NOT inform you of the new mailing address for property tax payments and that was at the behest of the vendor who now processes those payments. Yes, they know you mailed payments to the old address. Yes, they had hundreds of customers complaining about it. Get over yourself. Cut a new check, stop that old check, and move on. 😁

NYC is nothing but garbage. Department of finance is a scam with conflicted street signs to throw off unfortunate people and rob them of their hard earned money. It’s time to eat the rich. Nothing but devils in suits. One of the many reasons America is a joke in the world 🌎. Patético.

I just read, “the general assumption is that you’re guilty,” before writing this review! And, yes that is what brought me here today to write a review. So, my mom (an 79 year old woman) went to dispute 29 tickets that she did not get. Back story: her car was stole a year prior, and we knew it probably had something to do with this. So she goes to dispute the 29 tickets which we’re all given in the BX, we stay in BK. We have no reason to go to the BX. Haven’t been there since visiting the zoo as a child. Also, many of the days some tickets were given, w head proof she was not in NY state at all. We were in FL for a week during one of the trips, as we drove her car. Had EZ Pass tickets to prove this. Airline confirmation emails. On another day, we were in PA for the weekend. Had that proof also.

The judge a 40 ish aged white woman. Very ignorant, obnoxious, disgustingly rude and arrogant never even tried to understand, listen to or even get the details. First she stated to my mom, “how can someone take your license plates and use them on their car?” She then proceeded to basically chastise my mom demeaning her not ever giving her a chance to speak or even respond or react.

First off, what kind of question is that? There are crimes of fraud committed all the time. Also, Even though it’s illegal, we all know someone or have seen people or heard of people removing their plates and lending them or placing them on another car.

Also, there r so many other more advanced ways of committing crimes now a days, even I a surprised at times. But the point is anything is possible. And as a judge it’s your job to get the details and figure it out. But if your first response is “how can someone use your plates without you knowing?” The. maybe you need to go back to school and study. Or maybe you r in the wrong line of work. Lazy and miserable and should not be in this field.

It’s not our fault you were placed here because maybe you didn’t score high enough to be working at a firm in Chelsea or some other high end office.

Come to find out, after my mom snapped at her saying “I’m not a Goddamn criminal!” Then the judge told her to go to another desk. Not wanting to be bothered.

Come to find out, it is possible! Can someone please pass the news on to this clueless judge. Apparently after the other worker listened and did her job, turns out the days were on a blue 2023 suburban BMW. Go figure, my mom drives a black 2016 Hundai.

So whose gina. tell the judge it’s 2024 and anything is possible. And had she done her job she would have realized it was not my mom
and her plates had in fact been illegally duplicated and used.

This other woman found this information in maybe a few seconds after simply punching some keys on a computer only they had access to.

Which means all the judge had to do was maybe ask some questions and she would have at least asked them to dig deeper based kn the facts we had like emails for flights and EX Pass recipients etc.

We should not have to have a paid attorney to fight basic car violations. Imagine all the people who r not guilty who have to see this idiot woman who is the only one who can make a choice that affects the rest of their lives.

Never judge a book by its cover. This judge took one look at my mom and assumed that she was some ignorant uneducated fool who would allow her to just let this go!

But what her character or background is shouldn’t matter when it’s your job to only make a decision based on the facts not the person’s appearance! Or just because you are frustrated, burnt out and are incapable of showing any type of human compassion to another person. These r the same type of ppl who wonder why certain things happen to them. Because you get back what you put out! It’s called Karma!

Privileged and foolish!

Thank you to the other worker who showed compassion and patience and found out the details which proved that my mom was in fact telling the truth which we knew all the time obviously.

The other period also told my mom, “to change her license plate get new tags!”

Worst place in the city. Even you show them proof and reasonable reasons they don’t care.
