Called customer service this morning to request the status of a handicap parking permit on behalf of my dad who applied 6 MONTHS ago. He doesn’t speak any English. The lady on the phone already had an attitude at 10am. First of all, her background noise sounded like subway trains constantly passing by yet she gave me attitude every time I said I couldn’t hear her clearly. Then told me my father has to call this number himself to request an interpreter. I asked how he’s supposed to do that when the menu options are all in English? She sassed me in response. We must’ve spent less than a minute on the call (after I waited 45) and both of us left pissed off. Cool 👍 enjoy your miserable life sweetie

Me and my sister went there to get a work permit for sidewalk repair. They were awesome. From the security guards, to the people helping us with the forms to getting it done same day. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This was just an amazing experience

For the last 15 years, NYC DOT went from bad to worse. In the past, NYPD used to ticket driver in double parking spots, now, DOT are using MTA busses to ticket mother, father and in simple terms, hard working new Yorkers that drive to work, school, medical appointment and supermarkets.

I personally received a MTA bus ticket because I was dropping off my nephew , two busses went by with a 5 minutes of each other, I explained to the judges that I was just dropping my a 10 year kids and their answer was " Your was double parked ". The human aspect is gone. They only think about the $600 millions they collect every year of vehicle tickets.

Since Ydanis Rodriguez took office, New Yorkers are paying about $57 millions more on moving violations. On top of this, NYC Metropolitan authority ( MTA) has the worst rating since 1990's. According New York Time, DOT understood that fare invasion is the biggest lost for MTA and DOT, but instead DOT is focusing on the law abiding citizen to make the millions of dollars lost on the MTA poor management to the point that the MTA president took a lower paying job in Massachusetts.

As long as this politician are living in their political bubble, " WE THE PEOPLE " will be paying for their nonsense ideas.

We recently received a DOT sidewalk violation notice on 2/23/2021. First problem: the letter was dated 12/7/2020 but the certified envelope is stamped 2/19/2021! The violation contains several codes, letters etc.. The letter said call 311 for more information. I called a few times but nobody at 311 has any idea on how to interpret the codes and symbols. In particular, the the letter "A" and "5A" appears on the diagram a number of times...nobody at 311 knows what that means. DOT recommends we hire a licensed sidewalk contractor who knows about DOT policies and requirements. I found 3 such contractors. They too don't have an idea about the letters and symbols. We want to get the work done ASAP but have no way of knowing details of what is required. We don't want to get this almost 15K to 20K job done then find out it was done incorrectly. Why does DOT put citizens of NYC through this hardship. I fully understand why they want us to fix the sidewalk...for safety and esthetics....but why make it difficult? Can someone help interpret the diagrams so we can get the work done accurately?

NYC DOT workers seem like they all have an attitude, nasty people, these bums are obviously not happy at their jobs, I've seen a DOT driver sounding off his air horn continuously on a residential street at a school bus picking up kids then proceeded to drive around the bus with stop signs out. Total disrespect for other vehicles and school buses or school zones. I've also seen them cursing out other drivers and throwing stuff out of their windows at other drivers, taking leaks on public streets on peoples cars. Somebody needs to straighten these clowns out.

I've got a great idea!!!! why don't you guys refund me money on my tickets for never getting into a car accident?

Obviously the system is a complete failure just trying to steal money from the public.

While you're at it why don't you time the lights going out of Manhattan on the New Jersey side so people could flow right through the tunnels? Durrrrrrrrrrrrrr? Why am I waiting at the tunnels? Could you get to work on that please!!!

Probably the dumbest government department in New York City. Stupid road design will only make the roads more and more congested. Go away!

Most corrupt department in all of nyc… it is very hard to comprehend how a city sets up parking traps all over the city with hidden no parking signs under scaffolding and updates parking with bike lanes but not the signs adjacent to the areas.
