Grateful to the workers at the Dept of Labor. It’s not an easy job on any given day, and they have unending patience. I filed my unemployment claim online but had an issue with the form so went to the DOL at 9am on a Thursday. There were about 12 people ahead of me going through system intake but even still, I was in and out in about 1.5 hours. When unemployed, time is money, but I still think that this wait time (including an incredibly accurate wait time with an phone based claims officer) was pretty good all things considered. Thank you 😌

A logistics note: you can’t drink or eat but you can be (silently) on phones and laptops while waiting.

Always long wait. Bring ID, no eating/ drinking allowed and can't be on phone (talking). Come early in the morning and be prepare to be here long time. 12-130p is lunch time so they aren't unavailable. They need to hire more staff. There billion of ppl living in NYC & many become unemployed. Having one office building with less than 100 to handle this is unacceptable. I do need give shootout to Mr. Rondell he's been great helping me with my benefits issue.

I had a question about working papers for an out of school youth. Initially I left a message at the Career Center in the morning and called another number. The representative was very helpful!!
Funny that the same representative retrieved my earlier message and called back w/in 2 hours. Keep up the good work and restoring my faith in governmental agencies!

I could not get through on phone to resolve not receiving a payment for unemployment. I went to Brooklyn office, at 8:30 - first one in line. Was on a direct line to Albany. Brenda was very friendly and extremely helpful and solved my issue. I was out the door by 9:00 😎

They won’t even update me on my benefit determination. I need to information clearly showing I wasn’t approved for unemployed. A letter, email, something. I called, wrote a letter and faxed them and nothing.

The best thing about this office is the polite security guards. I went in person today. Never have I felt I could do a better job than anyone else until today. I was told this is a self-service center, look at printouts on the table to guide you. A lady in the background yelling at someone on the phone saying she doesn't do 8:00 am appts. Talk about a staff that needs customer service training even Popeyes and Mcdonalds got better customer service.
