Absolutely disgusting, arrogant, incompetent people. A small city building department with a napoleonic complex, making everything overly complicated in order to justify their salaries. Only Miami-Dade county compares to this cast of bureaucrats.

4 months. They don't know what they are doing. Every plan reviewer says something different

This is the worst building department in Broward. It's the most expensive permit fee and it takes them 3 months to issue the permit for a simple AC replacement. As soon as they find an error in the permit they kick it back without looking at the rest of the paperwork to catch all mistakes at once. When you make the correction, it takes them at least 2 weeks to look at it, only to kick it back again. So it takes months to correct a few issues that would take minutes if they were actually trying to get work done instead of finding a reason to delay the process.

The city harasses city dwellers. Over the course of 20 years, they have tried to ticket my elderly parents for things that other neighbors simply have not (they don't try to go after neighbors who are bullies or have younger people as part of the household). The last thing they tried to do was to fine my parents for a fire that was caused by the FPL! Nothing but crooks and incompetent people work here!

This is the worse experience we had as investors with this city. We have been waiting 4 months for a permit. Every time we call they tell us something different that are not in the comments. One person does not see what we need to do and other employees apparently can see everything we need to do or submit and they don’t communicate us on a timely manner . Without counting the countless days they take to review plans!!! When we are about to get the permit. They requested a new form from the contractor instead of asking it since the begging of the process of our permit. We have wasted so much time and money as investors with the wait and the back and forth. This is not an investment anymore!!!

1-they bad with answering phone.i stand there on hold while they chatting up.
Any supervision?
Planning seems to be quite prompt on approval of plans or reviews...
.try calling to get inspection time.....dammmmmm
