We faced a heartbreaking situation when a dog was hit by a car in front of our home. I want to express my gratitude to the officers who responded on 10/24/2024. They handled the entire situation with care and empathy. Thank you for looking after our small community. I wish I knew the name of the final officer who responded, but Officer Gann stood out for his good advice and support. Despite the sad outcome for the pup, you all were a bright light in a dark moment.

I had reported someone in my house for turning the temperature up to 80, on heat, and ripping out the thermostat with an infant in the house. Not even 6 months. They told me they would send someone out and I would receive a call very shortly. I never did receive that call. The very next day I decided to let my dogs play in the pouring rain for about 15 minutes before I gave them a bath. The same person I reported, reported my dogs being outside even though his two black labs are outside without a leash ALL the time. NO WARNING nothing the police show up. I’m thinking “goody! They arrived!” Only to say that they’re there for the dogs and they will put me in handcuffs if they came back out. I never knew my dogs were an issue, I never got warning. DON’T TRUST ODENVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT! They would rather take care of an animal that wasn’t even an issue, in our own property than look into a child endangerment case.

While waiting for a potential buyer of an item I posted on FB, I had the pleasure of meeting Officer Wiggins in the Odenville PD parking lot. Courteous and professional, I was very impressed with him and wanted to share my impression of him. Our small community is blessed to have these young professionals taking on these duties in a world that challenges anyone willing to step up. Stay safe and respect our LEOs, they deserve it.

Underwhelming, reluctant to take action, and not helpful. There's a reason others have reviewed this department poorly. Odenville can do better.
