The employees are always friendly and helpful by finding and recommending the items I need for my house projects. The ownership here really goes out of their way to assist you with whatever you need, which is helpful since hardware store purchases require more customer service than say, a grocery store. The store is also massively bigger than it appears on the outside (like a real life tardis!) so don't think for a minute they don't have a wide selection of options.

I visited this place before and went back here today for another for key duplicate.

Fast, easy and smooth process.

Bonus: Amazing they they have several key designs.

I went to this location about a year ago. There were two younger gentlemen who were very helpful and friendly.

I was told the old employees that were rude are no longer there.

I went to have a key made because there were new owners and they were friendly.

The rude people were there again. The lady just sits up on her stool and is not friendly and throws dirty looks. There's a bald man standing behind the counter. He told me they didn't carry what I was looking for. I found it. He was standing behind the counter while I was checking out, staring at me with a blank look and not saying a word. Just staring at me.

I don't know what happened to those two nice gentlemen working in the store, but I will never return for that type of service.

The rude lady told me Ace Hardware in Pinole took their business. No one took their business except for the employees in El Sobrante Oliver's Hardware.

Learn some customer service skills. Maybe a smile or hello couldn't hurt.

I went to get a key duplicated that said Do Not Duplicate and they said they cannot duplicate it because California law so I looked up California law and it says the key can't be duplicated if it has the number and business stamped where's the Do Not Duplicate I informed them of this and they told me rudely that they could not do it anyway I said the law says you can "but we're not going to do it if you bought a blank key off the internet that said Do Not Duplicate we wouldn't duplicate it" and I said so it's you guys not the law that stopping my key being made this was with three employees

This place is amazing. They. Have. Everything! The store just keeps going, with another room or row of shelves just when you think you've reached the end.
Old school hardware store that is here to serve both the DIY and contractor. Their prices might be a bit higher than the big box orange store, but at Oliver's you can actually find an employee, and they are always happy to help.

I've been coming to this store for 20 years and I'm never disappointed. The amazing people that work there always go above and beyond to help me with whatever I'm looking for. I went in today (lost as usual) for a fill valve and Jeff not only showed me where to find it, he walked me through how to replace it. I appreciate the whole crew there. Thank you for the amazing customer service always!
