We came here, the closest health department to our home, for the free Hepatitis A shot. My primary physician recommended getting it, especially since we eat out often. Due to recent outbreaks in Pinellas County restaurants, the shot is free here & given on a first come, first served basis.

The receptionist was friendly and efficient. The waiting area was cool, with plenty of seats. The flat screen TV showed informational videos. Brochures were plentiful on a variety of subjects. It was a bright, clean, welcoming facility.

We filled out the paperwork and waited about 20 minutes before we proceeded to Triage, down the hall from the lobby. This room was clean, quiet, and had only 6 chairs. A family of 4 was waiting with us. Then we waited for the family of four to finish - about 25 minutes before we were called in for our shots.

The injection was in the muscle and it was painless, given by a smiling professional. She also gave us a printed record of all our vaccines. Since this is a two part shot, we’ll be back in 6 months. Hope she’s here, too!

Staff was really good when I went in person for all my shots and tests. 5 stars for the in person visit, went early (before 10-10:30am) and barely waited. But when I needed my lab tests faxed over to my doctor I waited over 3 hours for the guy to fax just my lab results, despite my doctor, the nurses and myself calling multiple times. So slow. Should not take that long just to fax lab results...ridiculous. I tried to pull them online beforehand to avoid this but they didn’t update my profile online so I couldn’t even print them myself. :/ medical records here is a joke.

Fast service even though it's a health department. They offer a ton of services (listed on their web site) and at a very low cost.
I had to get Immunizations and titers for nursing school there and it was a lot cheaper than going anywhere else, by quite a bit.

I'm a nurse who needed vaccinations prior to employment at hospice. I was treated courteously. The wait was approximately 30 minutes. I returned to this location several times since I needed a series of vaccinations. Every time I went, I was treated with dignity and respect. I treated the employees there kindly, and I received the same kind of respect right back.

Day 1 I came in looking for a physical.. was told there was a 3 hour wait and to come back.
On check-in was then informed by a different employee they don’t even do physicals.

Next visit, I came in for all antibody testing and was told I was getting all they offered, then given a generic receipt. Told to come back in 10 days which ended up being a waste of gas.

4th visit after waiting 14 days which is the maximum timeframe (anywhere else 2-3 days), I was informed something went wrong and I got 1/6 of my results so I had to be stuck again.

5th visit I found out that I did not get an order for an antibody test I needed which ended up being the only one that needs renewed annually…

Just go to quest or walgreens/cvs and let the professionals handle your health related matters.

This place is for STD checks and free rubbers.

Arrived on a Monday one hour before close and was told there wasn’t enough time to complete the vaccination yellow form for school registration. Told to come back the next day to pick up. Went back Tuesday and arrived at 4:55 PM and they close at 5:00. The door was locked and the clock on the inside said it was 5:05 (manual clock), my CELL and car said 4:55 PM. I was there to pick up a form only. In and out. I knocked on the door and someone went behind the counter and said they were closed and then said they didn’t know what they could do. I called the main number to file a complaint and sat on hold for 10 minutes and when the call went through, I was promptly hung up on because now it was 5:10. This service is not cognizant of people who work the same hours they are open. Seems to only be good for people that don’t work. Terrible way to provide service when it’s required by the state to have certain forms completed for school to keep everyone safe by being vaccinated.

The staff is nice enough and there are a few who really stand out for their professional and caring demeanor. Tarpon springs is blessed to access to these health care services for low cost. Latoya NP is so kind and personable. She really made me feel comfortable in her care. Thank you all.
