One of the worst building departments in Florida. They NEVER answer the phone. I waited all day for 6 DIFFERENT INSPECTIONS all day. Only 3 showed up. One just drove right past me and the job site.
Plantation is the worst county to do work in. make sure you charge triple your normal rates to do any work here.

The online submittal is very different than most other municipalities and is immpossible to manage from a mobile device. It is not user friendly, good luck!

The ladies who work at the office do try to help out and provide information.

Plumber and Kitchen inspection = excellent. Those two guys were great, didn't waste time.

Electrical - there were some back and fourth, conflicting answers which made the process a bit difficult. One guy came and said the "rough" electrical process needs to be completely done. We even asked "isn't the wall suppose to open to show the wiring? He said no, it has to be completely finish. When it was time for final inspection, another guy came and he wouldn't sign - he said "rough draft needs to show the wall open with the wiring" - we had to contact the first guy. Very disorganized.

Need someone to manage the team. The customer service support is all over the place and not very organized.

Customer service is extremely important to any business, and hopefully management instills that for their SME's/representatives.

Horrible
Typical example of arrogant, abusive government.I dared to repair my wooden fence without permit after the hurricane damaged a part of it. While about 8 other people replaced their entire fences,Ii was singled out for not having a permit. No courtesy notice, no letter, nothing, City magistrate hearing without my presence. I was able to see their certified mail receipt - there was a fraudulent signature on it, not my name or hand writing.Not even mentioned that when it was delivered i was in the hospital. My cat does not sign receipts either. They say that it does not matter who received the letter as long as somebody somewhere received it and I should take an attorney. For the copy of the fraudulent signature they want almost $ 24.-. No response from the building dept. chief, nobody will talk to you.
From my past experience a number of years ago , their inspectors are abusive garbage too, screwing people on nonsense while not catching real problems.
I cannot believe that these people can entertain their lavish life style and jack pot size retirement benefits at our cost.
