The employees are always kind but the selling process has been negative nearly every time I have been there. Two times I brought in numerous pairs of name brand and in-style shoes that I only wore maybe once or twice. The amount I was offered for those items was insanely low compared to how much I paid for them. I got offered 5$ for 75$ princess Polly shoes that I bought and wore once for graduation a month ago. The shoes are almost new, recent, and in great condition so I am just taken aback by the little amount being offered for certain items. I would say if you truly have name brand and nice items to try selling somewhere else first, the 5$ was just not worth it to me.

I really enjoyed my experience with the specific Plato’s Closet! The employees were very friendly and really easy to talk to. Their trading value was amazing and they were very fast and efficient! If you’re planning on selling your clothes, definitely do at this location!

waste of time if you’re trying to donate! Brought in new/perfect condition lululemon, American eagle, zara, Adidas, etc. and was told nothing “aligned” lol. makes sense, because the selection is essentially secondhand shein. but oof! Wasted 2 hours of my darn day.

Out of all the Plato’s near me this one is definitely my favorite not just because of the layout but because of how friendly the staff is. I have always had positive experiences in this store when I’m looking for something in specific they always try their best to help me find it. As someone who gets really overwhelmed when clothing is just piled I really enjoy shopping here because it’s easy to find my favorite brands and the store is always clean. One thing that stood out to me was the section of clothes in which the money goes to Lost Our Home I would love to see more of those items! Overall I love that this Plato’s is ALWAYS stocked with great finds and amazing prices I never feel over charged or ripped off at this Plato’s like I’ve felt in other thrift stores and Plato’s in the valley.

Update 6/26/2024. I came back in to retry to place because they had good inventory last time. I brought items in to sell as well: urban outfitters, free people, levis, brand names only. I happened to get the same cashier as last time to sort my clothes and maybe she remembered me or this location just doesn’t pay out well because she gave me $14 for 6 items ($2 per item).The person in front of me did have 17 items taken for $60. I would def just go to another location. Not very nice customer friendly enviornment unfortunately.

Disappointing experience. I came in and explained to a worker how I had a 50% coupon and shopped for about an hour. Once I got done and started checking out, she then lets me know the coupon won’t work without even seeing it. I show her on my phone that it says valid at this location but she still won’t let me use it. I understand they have the right to refuse anything, I just would’ve appreciated that communication before I spend an hour shopping and then some sort of compensation for that. Even $5 off even would’ve been so nice but because she was so uncooperative and didn’t listen to me I just felt undervalued and I won’t be going to this location again.

Update- gave platos a second chance for nothing. The employees never even looked at my items. They are literally untouched & they set the basket down after 2 min of being on the counter lol. Nobody went thru anything. Waste of time.

Don’t waste your time bringing your stuff here. They deny free people, Zara, h and m, Levi’s, new with tags because they have “over stock” in the store?

I went to this Platos Closet today for the first time and was very pleasantly suprised by the great customer service. Quinn was such a great help in helping me navigate the store and helping me find clothes I was really happy with. She helped me get a changing room and then quickly checked me out. Nice and efficient!! I will definitely be coming back to this location if the quality of employees are at the same level as Quinn.

I personally always recommend this location, the staff is super friendly, and inviting as well as the environment they bring! I’ve sold here and I’ve purchased, and I always brag about how I found a good deal and recommend shopping Plato’s Closet Tempe, because they have the best prices all around & great brands, and no matter what any negative reviews may say, I think it’s obvious to say you either get it or don’t get it when it comes to selling, and usually that’s where the bad reviews come from, it’s not personal it’s business and i totally get that! Love this store!
