My last 2 packages of ground chuck were brownish and had a bad odor. Both had to be trashed. I contacted customer service 2 times before I got any help. Someone is supposed to contact me to discuss the problem within 24 + hours.

We are in this particular store two to three times a week. We know some of the employees well. Three days ago Tuesday, April 8, 2025, we arrived at the Sylacauga publix. We had been to the credit union to cash a check to have cash to pay for my parents groceries (they are elderly and need help from me and my husband). We bought groceries for me and my husband separate from my parents groceries (we always do a separate ticket). The girl that checked us out has seen us many times in there. I gave the money to my husband out of the envelope the credit union had given to me 2 $100 bills and she marked it with the little marker they use to check bills. I guess she did it several times before she calls another girl over..I don't remember seeing her before..then she calls the male manager over and he takes it over to the manager desk. He comes back and the second girl asks if we have any other legal tender to pay with. I said yes I have more money that came from the credit union. They take it and don't mark them that I know of and take one of the $100 bills plus two $50 bills. They do all of this in front of other customers and employees. I held up the envelope that all of the money came from just 2 hours before we checked out. The credit union was already closed so my Mother and I had to get up and go to the credit union the following morning (Wednesday, April 9, 2025). Mom had already called the credit union and spoken with a lady in customer service named Treasure. She took it and ran it through the machine they have to detect if it is counterfeit. She came back and said "tell the people at publix sylacauga they don't know what they are doing the $100 bill in question is a good $100 bill and NOT counterfeit". So my husband and I were publicly humiliated and it turns out the bill was legal tender. I am not happy. These people have lost all credibility in our opinion and we may never go into their store or a publix again. We spend thousands of dollars in this store over the years and in many other publix and this is the thanks we get. Publix needs a better system. I was told by the on duty customer service manager that all publix has to detect if a bill is no good is the marker, a ultraviolet light, and a magnifying glass. This is unacceptable. You should consider getting a machine to detect if a bill is bad and in the future take the customer to the customer service desk and have a private conversation not public so as to not embarass the customer.
