As a loyal Publix customer for over 20 years, I was extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I encountered during my recent visit to your 2720 E. Ponce de Leon Ave location.

On this occasion, I observed that only the express lane and self-checkout lines were open. With a shopping basket exceeding the express lane limit, I had no choice but to utilize the self-checkout area.

Unfortunately, the self-checkout lanes were overcrowded and were not stocked with shopping bags. This situation was further exacerbated by the presence of an associate who appeared to be inactive while customers faced these challenges.

It’s a relatively small store and their layout makes sense for an easy, predictable flow and finding things. Sometimes there are long lines at self checkout, but they typically move fairly quickly. They also make sure to have human cashiers available who are reliably friendly. It’s rare that I’ve experienced someone who seems to resent the job. I like their $5 sushi Wednesdays and their produce is fresh. I’ve been able to make quick trips in and out several times, which is very convenient. Overall it’s been a consistently pleasant experience even when it’s busy. I am disappointed they are discontinuing supporting schools though.

Great spot if you have all day to wait for a sub. Clean new store is nice, but I've never walked out of a Publix until now. The line for a sub wasn't even long, it just was not moving. I was 4th in line for over 15 min.

Deli manager stopped by to shoot the breeze too which only slowed down the only woman working the counter who was already moving at a glacial pace. What were the other 3 people doing back there as the line grew?

The service here is ridiculous and after complaints upon Complaints the managers haven't done anything to improve the performance or quality of there store.. let's start with the bakery.. the employee rarely use gloves while making ur sandwich on dirty top platters, not to speak if u want a sandwich u will have to wait an hour or more because the employee work as if they don't care about the customers.. the floors are always sticky. I went in today because it was convienencely on my route to work and it was questionable why one piece of chicken from the hot side of the bakery was $3.29? Upon me asking this butch bull danger "hey why is the price for one mini PC of chicken $3.29?" She responded with "don't act stupid and ask stupid questions!" ..I was thrown off by her response and asked to speak to the manager who was clueless of her position and then the price was decreased to $2.29 which still didn't make sense to me but I paid it and left after complaining in tears .. like 5he audacity of this person to speak to me in this manner was totally unacceptable and nothing was done after other employees saw and heard what happened and they went and got the manager for me. Employees here are lazy and very unfriendly.

Update Jan 2025 : Whenever I and my wife visit and stay with our daughter in Decatur, we find it very convenient to come to this outlet of Publix for some quick shopping.

Wide aisles, clear signages, neatly and systematically stacked items, and immaculate maintenance make shopping a pleasant experience. Generally wide choice of items, except for vegetables and fruits where their competitors offer more variety.
They also need to be more competitive in their prices.

2022 : The store, as expected, is very clean and spacious. My review is related to its Pharmacy. Visited, along with my wife, for Covid Booster doze.... the pharmacists were so pleasant and very efficient. We were through in just about 10 minutes.

Publix Supermarket is situated very close to Avondale Marta station in a nice little shopping mall, it is a new construction so everything looks fresh and new.
Publix is renowned for its fresh quality produce and this branch certainly lives up to that fact, it’s nicely laid out and looks so fresh.
The store is quite large with well laid well stocked aisles, there is plenty of food staff if you need a question answered who are very helpful and willingness to help is clear to see.
There is a snack area, where you can from the salad quarter, the cake counter, the sandwich counter , the drinks counter or the dinner counter all the offerings look fresh and of good quality, the prices are so reasonable.
Bonus is there is a well stocked pharmacy area, with rest rooms, all in all its a good place to do your shopping

This review is for the deli. There is clearly some kind of issue there. I always order ahead and my order is never, ever available in the cooler when I get there whether it’s at the stated time or 30-60 minutes later. Then I have to stand in a long line to track it down. If I’m lucky my items are sitting on the deli counter unrefrigerated, but sometimes they can’t find my order at all and they have to start from scratch. Why offer this service if they don’t have the capacity to fulfill orders?

We love Publix! But did you know that not all locations have the same prices? We usually find some of the best deals at this Publix. They usually have the Swai and lobster bisque we like. Better prices on some wines than other Publix locations we have recently visited.
