As someone who regularly leaves reviews, I’ve never had a negative experience at this Publix—until recently. I came in around 7:52 AM to cash a payroll bonus check. I bank with Flagstar but wanted to surprise my husband by giving him cash, so I searched online and saw that Publix does offer check-cashing services, including payroll checks.

While I was waiting in line, a woman—who I later learned was the store manager, Janey—approached and asked if I needed help. I responded yes, a bit startled, and asked for a pen. She handed it to me without a word, just holding it above the register at eye level with a visible attitude. I signed my check and handed it to her, and she immediately said, in a very rude tone, “We don’t take personal checks.” I explained that it was a payroll bonus check and mentioned that according to Publix’s website, they do cash payroll checks for a fee. Rather than calmly clarifying the policy, she continued to speak over me and maintained a condescending attitude.

I told her no problem—I’d just head to Wells Fargo at 9 instead. As I walked away, I asked her name again and she said “Janey” with more attitude.

Despite that, I greeted another employee, Mercy, who was kind and engaging. We even shared a quick laugh after she asked how I was doing and I said, “Just trying to survive!” That small moment of kindness was appreciated.

I honestly don’t know why someone would be that rude so early in the morning. I’ve worked overnight shifts myself and never treated anyone that way. Based on other feedback I’ve heard, I don’t think this is the first complaint involving this manager. I’ve also submitted my experience to corporate.

I left the corporate world—where I worked in HR—to care for the elderly as an HHA. Sadly, this was one of the worst customer service interactions I’ve experienced.

In pharmacy
The person that was filling up the pills for a prescription, not mine .
It was OK for him to drop pill on the floor and pick it up. Put it in the prescription of that person.
When I confronted the person for him was OK the pill was only one second on the floor was his response.

Publix pharmacy is very helpful and accomodating. They will review a specific prescription and tell you if you have outstanding refills. They will reach out to doctors if it has run out. Then you will receive your meds as fast as possible.
Wonderful staff!

This is one of the worst deli you could ever go to. The people spend more time chatting with people than they do serving them. I walked out of there today and will never go bas overpriced. As you are publics, you should at least don't make people wait. We'll walk out on you. You're just lost seventy five dollars sale

Other Publix seem to have better customer service and in this Publix, I quite often have to ask why the items are not on the shelves or the Bogo are not available to find out it was never stocked in the first place. Went today and cashier named Karen absolutely had no personality. Am I the customer supposed to always ask? How are you and to say have a nice day? Might as well go to Walmart if that’s the case this is what separates Publix from other places, but I guess that is the way it used to be.

I am an avid Publix shopper. In this store, I experienced many products we not on the shelves. It seems that they have had this issue the last few times I visited the store. I had to go to another Publix to get the products I needed.

One of the worst Publix in the area. Most of the times items are not stocked and have to get someone to help to see if it’s in the back which usually is. Not sure why things are not put out consistently if they are in stock. Staff seems not attentive and hard to locate to help out. There are still a few employees that have been there for a long time that are very good. Probably not going to go to this Publix anymore.
