I ordered the CBCB. This sandwich has thin, breaded pieces of chicken. Seems like a great idea, and the other reviews looked great. Mine was dry, overcooked, and chewy. The only thing I could taste on the sandwich was too much salt. I paid $6 for a side of 2 eggs. Not only was this too expensive, the eggs came out wet and undercooked. The texture was flat and slimy. Come on guys, train your cook or replace him. My meal was inedible. I got a refund on the eggs though and the server was very nice.

I've been dying to try this place and I am so glad I did! It was a rainy, cold day so other wasn't as busy as it has the capacity to be.

To start, I sat - the bar per my usual. The ambiance is very cool and trendy. I ordered the Strawberry French 75, it was delicious! Strawberries are in season right now, FYI. It was a great way to start off the brunch experience. I'm so glad Amelia (or Emilia) mentioned it.

Next, I ordered the C.B.C.B. w/a separate side of cheese grits. Amelia brought a small side of pineapple compote & a side of the strawberry compote to have with breakfast sandwich. The strawberry was a sweet addition to the bold cheddar cheese flavor of the sandwich. I skipped the pineapple - personal preference. The chicken breast was crispy & the bacon was plentiful and tasty! Overall, it was a great breakfast. I would definitely return.

Delicious. Nourishing. Must-go-back for another visit kind of dishes and atmosphere.

1. They have homemade pineapple jelly.
2. The vegetable plate. Fried green tomatoes? Fab. Also the veggie plate is all vegetarian friendly. I don't know how but those collards are amazing even without ham.
3. The house made soda was refreshing.
4. Their website recommends parking options! 10/10 ⭐

A great option for local brunch! The staff were very welcoming and helpful and happy to make recommendations. I do think the pricing was a bit inconsistent for what they’re offering, but not enough to deter a return visit.
The cold brew was also surprisingly good and well balanced.

Stopped in and took a chance on Rising Son. The atmosphere was great, hostess was very kind and got me seated quickly. The gentleman tending the bar was attentive and helpful. Reasonable pricing and portions are fair. The pineapple jam is fresh made along with local ginger beer from the area! It’s got a nice kick too. Definitely will be back and if you’re in the Decatur/ Avondale Estates area, do visit.

The only down side to this place is that they close at 2:30pm! Their food is DELICIOUS!!! And I love that they are independent… not a chain. Been there 2x and was happy each time and as a true ‘Foodie’ that’s important!! My recommendation is for you to GO and experience what they have to offer.

They popped up on google and I decided to give them a try. It was a great decision. Thomas at the bar handled all of my needs very quickly and he was also very pleasant in the service he gave.
